Early Access Review
Great Shooter if you don't have lot's of time for playing videogames. No unnecessary grind and unlocks, just pure, raw action whenever you're up to it. Great visual style and easy to learn, yet hard to master gameplay.

Short but beautiful demo. Worth if it's on sale but since this really is basically a demo it just should be free

The best way to describe the game is probably by listening to the song "As the sun Beat down" by the Taxpayers.

Verse 1]
When the fight broke on Brighton Road
Traffic stopped
Some old man hit the pavement
And they ushered in the cops
And the camera crews arrived
And people gathered all around

[Refrain]
As the sun beat down
As the sun beat down

[Sax Solo]

[Verse 2]
Picked up the phone
"It's no emergency, but come on over quick"
Ricky drove his old Ford truck over to give us both a lift
Headed for the hospital, that big one downtown

[Refrain]
As the sun beat down
As the sun beat down

[Verse 3]
It was a day that broke records
Melting tar on every block
People dropping from the climate in the streets
Something died inside that sweltering garage
A sacrificial lamb in honor of the heat, yeah and...

[Refrain]
And the sun beat down
And the sun beat down
And the sun beat down
And the sun beat down

[Coda]
August 23rd, 1959
Got word from the nurse there hadn't been enough time
Screaming baby boy now slept without a sound
As the sun beat down

Far Cry New Dawn, you're really a disapointment, and it's not even because you're a bad game.

Far Cry New Dawn is a standalone spin-off continuing the story of Far Cry 5. It's set on a smaller map of hope county and follows the security captain and the community prosperity in their fight against the highwayman, a violent fraction tyrannizing the rest of whats left in hope county. You'll meet many characters from Far Cry 5 like the father, Grace and others.

So what are the good things about Far Cry New Dawn?
First, the open world looks fantastic. Instead of normal grey and brown postapocalyptic setting hope county post apocalypse has lots of vibrant colors and looks really really beautiful. But it really doesn't look like there's been a nuclear war just a few decades back. They could've definitly made the open world look more dystopian than it really ended up being. The graphics and animations look also really beautiful and the animations, especially the takedowns, are absolutly amazing.

But what are the bad things? Well a lot. First on the villains Mickey and Lou are really underperforming. They're by far the worst villains Far Cry has indroduced and seem more awkward than threatening. Also again, we have a mute protagonist and while the side characters in Far Cry 5 were halfway decent, they just don't have any personality in New Dawn.

And here we come to the biggest letdown, the introduction of RPG mechanics. What is it with Ubisoft that they have to force RPG mechanics in all of their games nowadays. Far Cry New Dawn is the best example of this. the series worked perfectly with the mechanics they had, so why tf do the enemies now have a fu*king healthbar over their heads. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating to not be able to progress in the game just because you're enemies are legendary in that zone. You can avoid a bit of that if you play on easy, but still not fun to shoot someone in the head with a sniper rifle and not even being able to pierce their armor.

Then we come to the most disgusting monetarization ubisoft has thrown at us yet. Ressource management. You see, of course there is no real currency in the game since it's after the end of the world, instead you have to scavange outposts etc, to gather ressources to build up your community and upgrade your weapons. The problem, well hehe... Some of the ressources (especiallly Carbon) are so f*cking rare that you can barely get enough to get all guns etc if you dont spend a ridicules amount of time scavanges outposts and hunting. But you get so little carbon it's not even worth it. But don't you worry, ubisoft knew that of course and has a perfect solution. Because now you can buy crafting material packs, which cost between 2,50- and 10 euros. Btw even the most expansive pack, the large crafting pack which cost 1000 Far Cry credits, which is 10 euros only gives you 69 carbon and 69 circiut boards and much like the number 69 implies, you sure as hell get f*'cked over here. Because that is not even close to the amount you need to craft every single item in the game. And getting those ressources the normal way takes a lot of time.

But don't you worry, I've got your back of course. Since I'm a poor student who rather spends his money on real pleasure like drugs, alcohol and unprotected sex, I of course found ways to join forces against Ubisofts monetarization, to fight back the capitalists and bring the power back to us simple members of working class families and exploited students. This power is called WeMod, or any kind of other cheat provider like cheat engine in which you can activate a ressource multiplyer which give you up to 9999 (or something like that) times more ressources from your normal activities than usually. System expropriated my fellow comrades. Like this it's far less grindy to get all guns in the game.

So do I ultimately recommend playing Far Cry New Dawn? I mean you can, it's not downright awful and the gameplay is still quiet fun and the open world really is beautiful. But there is nothing remarkable about this game at all, so you can skip it. But if you really want to be asked to buy ressource packs, every time you open the weapon shop, well then I guess you can have some fun with the game after all. Peace out
