John Carpenter's The Thing for $1? Sure!

If you want a challenging and realistic simulation of a city, this game is not for you.

While this game was gifted to me, I would definitely buy it for full price. It is a surprisingly engaging and deep survival game. While it looks rough (it is still alpha after all), it is even now a fully-featured game with really engaging mechanics.

This game had so much potential wayyyy back when it was in beta. Somewhere along the way, all of the competent programmers and writers were fired and progress hit a brick wall. Most of the good lore was retconned, the already clunky and tedious combat system regressed, and the rushed story content for "release" is the most cliche garbage you can imagine. Exploration used to be cool, now every planet is the same and exploration is locked behind tiers of items. I only feel disappointment when I play this, and cannot recommend it unless you can ignore the trash lore and bad combat system. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is the most addicting game I have ever played. I managed to rack up more than 60 hours in a matter of two weeks-- and this was while school was still in. Automating production lines has never been so fun!
