Don't Nod polished the formula they used for Vampyr and created another beautiful AA+ game where you play God and judge people based on their actions or your personal gain.

Despite the investigative nature of this game there isn't much text to read at all. I personally struggle with reading text and I appreciate this A LOT.

Unlike most games with a "karma" mechanic, in Banishers your choices will not affect you directly but the person you care about the most (I won't spoil). For this reason I decided to tank the guilt of exploiting innocents and i went for a selfish/genocide/evil/whatever run as my first and only playthrough instead of my usual good karma/pacifist gameplay.

The "district/town/settlement citizen health" system is not as invasive as it was on Vampyr and won't kill the entire zone if you fail to keep up with it.

-Exploration follows a pretty scripted model but level design benefits a lot from it and the whole map is very well made.
-Combat feels weird and clunky at first but starts to make sense once you unlock more skills. Building doesn't go too deep and this makes build variety pretty vast and can be changed at any time. Rebinding some keys can help.
-Technically the game is well polished and optimized. Haven't had any problems typical of modern games in the first months after launch.

CONS: WOKE GAME: the main character is a Sc*ttish guy

Such a big downgrade from the previous 2 games.
The interactions between the character is so forced weird/quirky it makes the hipster setting in the first game look like normal human behaviour.
Everything feels so shallow and the lack of a good OST like in the first 2 games makes it 10 times more boring.
At least it was short

A very intriguing game made for edgy drama queens who enjoy gossiping, spying on people, know everything about everyone, manipulating weaklings and sometimes murdering them.
Gameplay is varied enough and can even be challenging if you go for a pacifist run in hard mode making this game a souls-like wannabe that will see you being constantly underleveled and starving for resources (as you'd expect from a vampire that refuses to feed on people).
Most choices seem to lead to the same conclusion but some of them change your playthrough completely and you'll be dreading making the wrong one cause there's no rewind or quick-save feature and the moment you click the answer you're locked into it unless you start the game from scratch.

CONS: there's british people in the game

A little gem with an interesting story, a wonderful soundtrack and a passionate indie developer behind it all.

Just finished. It just feels natural and intriguing to play this game. I get scared easily and this game did it just right but not too much. Awesome atmosphere and soundtrack. Kind of a Limbo-like experience. Highly recommended. Now i want a stuffed Nome for myself.
