Very atmospheric and nicely put together. Sure there are under utilized things, mechanics that are barely used, but if you don't expect some " groundbreaking horror " out of it or something with mindbending plot, you will get a simplistic but engaging game that requires your attention and investment by not walking you through it with quest markers and direct objectives where to do and what.
Also the game feels really polished and technically impressive in sound/artstyle/animations department. You really do not feel that it was made by 3 people except few rare instances.

Almost a definition of a " 7 out of 10 game ". Is it bad ? No, I quite enjoyed my time playing it.
" Why not a better score then ? " - it's simply not as good, that's it.

Look, I enjoyed this game for 80% of it's runtime, which is ~ 18 hours. In order to do so however, I had to spoil & on the fly adjust to scarce ammo philosophy by targeting inventory & ammo capacity firsthand, also charging every shot. Someone not like me - yeah, will be dissapointed with the game. Also I really liked on-point notes, atmosphere, music and worldbuilding 80% of the time. All of this is enough to give the game positive review with " 7 out of 10 rating "

And before I describe the other 20%, there's a small list of other issues I disliked:
- It's UE5, not the best optimized one as well.
- It's a hypertuned dead space formula. It's not " new breed of horror "
- A lot of mechanics outside combat are gimmicks, there's no interaction between enemies and time reversal, power line darts, you use them only to solve puzzles.
- Same bossfight 3 times...

And the other 20% - last " chapter of the game ".
It's a disaster in a narrative department. It disregards ALL of the characters you've met, trailed, read about, it more or less disregards the worldbuilding except for certain plot needed mucguffins, it doesn't answer almost no interesting questions, all it does is wraps up the story quickly so it could end here and there. It create the " death of the character " narrative phenomenon where certain characters become something they never were entirety of the story just for the story to wrap up. You get me, it just, bleh, why ? I really like you Bloober guys, but it feels like a trend - to have a decent game 80% of the time and fail in the last 20%. Layers, Observer, Blair, etc etc.
Yeah, and the gameplay is you know, more of the same mostly and a OK-ish bossfight, not taking into account few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moves from him. And endings are bleh as well. All of them. why

Well, still, it were a good 18 hours, the last 3 just sucked ass.
