Update: This review is from Nov 18th. Much has changed since then in many positive ways. As much as I would recommend this game to many people because I think it's amazing despite my previous review, I still advise against it if your against sudden and massive changes that make or break tons of builds with no changes to the much more frustrating bugs or mechanics that can make the game consistently unenjoyable in some parts of the game. That said, I will leave my prior review up as a reminder of what happens when devs kneejerk massive changes such as global CD on mods and cooldown caps lower than previous patch or changing DoT damage from Damage per Tick(Scales damage to gun+dot/element damage bonuses) to Total Damage over Duration(higher damage for lower duration meaning vastly lower damage for much higher duration).

Nov 18 review

What I'm saying here isn't to berate or insult the devs but my take on their handling of the games balance and how damaging it is to people who play the game for a long time. Most of what I say won't even matter to you unless you play on nightmare or above.

Great game handled by devs with extreme trigger fingers. I would recommend this game on sale if your interested in a fun playthrough or 2 but when it comes to endgame, don't bother unless you ether go raw damage or change your build every 12hours. I really enjoyed the climb to endgame but once I got there I felt every patch. You can spend 10-30hours trying to get pieces to a set and the devs will nuke it on kneejerk reaction to seeing a video on reddit. They post incorrect listings or ghost patch things that are extremely important to players farming powerful builds. They are unwavering and simply too quick to make these decisions which result in the complete death of classes, weapons and strats in series of patches.

The most recent being the Ritualist Class, which I agree was pretty busted. However there is similarly busted things, some far easier to make just as OP and some far more effective than Ritualist unless your running 2players built specifically to support eachother. I suspect more nerfs in the future as most things posted on reddit that has gained popularity has been nerfed hard already. Most notably as of this time, Cooldown being nerfed from 100% to a cap of 75%(despite the patchnotes saying they fixed 100% breaking your skill in a way where it couldn't be used until you rested at the stone).

That said their priorities is strictly on nerfing any build people find with ritualist that doesn't involve use gun with 3rd skill(a skill that increases your damage alot for a set time and gives you life steal but drains your HP rapidly up to 300% of your HP). They haven't fixed many of the major bugs plaguing the game like the CDR amulet Legacy protocol, bugging players to be immortal if they cast suing the last bit of their HP for 15s before respawning them or Alchemist's ability not being throwable sometimes and forcing you to toss it at your feet even if you hold the button to toss it. Also stuff like if you die with a auto revive and a ally is down they instantly die so you auto revive alone or graphics effects becoming invisible after you've died forcing you to have to restart the game if you want to see projectiles. The devs seem to care way more about beating the fun out of endgame than considering proper nerfs and fixing bugs that have been in the game sense release. I can't recommend a game with devs who will nerf anything that isn't run and gun that they see within 12hours of it being posted.

Real shame is I really want to play the game. They have made some great changes. However until they stop overreacting to social media posts it's not worth my time to farm stuff only for it to be butchered to prevent a specific build. The fun isn't there when you have to keep changing your build every day or lower the difficulty because the devs beat builds to death instead of toning things down and seeing how it goes.

A great way to play old games that do not support borderless window! It's pretty easy to, you just open it, select the program on the left and click the right arrow in the center. Honestly thought I wasted money on this but going back to classic games I found a use for it.
