A fun hop, skip and zipline across the varied environments of my neighbors.
Northern Journey is a great step back a few years to when games did not come with RTX, full motion captured animations or celebrity voice actors. In all the good ways.
The game is not overly long, but long enough to feel like it ends when it should.
The story is simple, yet interesting.
The environments are lovely, even though they are simple, the vast views are quite enjoyable to look at.
The music is fantastic, one of my favorite aspects of this game.

Some of the last parts of the game however, was rather tedious and felt a bit out of place. But they are not particularly long so it’s not a large concern.

It’s a nice refreshing experience compared to many other games these days. Something different, yet something all to familiar at the same time.

More of the game I enjoyed as a browser game a few years ago, under the name Electric City Manager.

Which is also a good place to start to see if you'd enjoy this kind of game.

I find it highly enjoyable, although this iteration is rather short, as was the original. This isn't inherently a bad thing, I just wish there was more of it because it is so much fun!

I do find a few things negative with it though, some things are not explained very well and there are some typos here and there. As well as the aforementioned shortness of the game.
But at the current 4.99 EUR that I paid for it, it gave me a couple of hours of tinkering and I have since replayed it several times just to mess around. Definitely a better cost/fun ratio than many other things. Cheaper than going to the cinema and I definitely paid more to see terrible movies in the past.

I'd love to see more scenarios and maps!

TLDR: It's not bad, its not good, its just alright.

It is obvious that they are simply attempting to mimic all the other BR games around these days, and that they do just fine. The game plays smoothly and runs well. If you played any other BR you know exactly how it goes down. In fact the closest comparison in terms of feel, would be Naraka: Bladepoint.

In its current state it doesn't really contain much content though, a small selection of weapons, one map, and this weird hub thats practically pointless. If they had just had a training room or something in said lobby to play with the weapons and abilities, that would have been great.

Its just a perfectly average game that doesnt try to innovate or bring something new. Which is fine. It's just fine.

A decent game with a interesting story that sadly declines rather quickly.

I was interested in the story told in this game but i could not help but feel like the longer I played it, the worse it was told. Areas became larger for no reason and they contained less story related content and more just waste of time mechanics.
What started with something rather dense with lore, plot and story points ended up with large areas seemingly designed to be slow to navigate for no good reason.
The further I got in to the game the larger the leaps in story progress became, something I found rather disappointing because it means you are left with more questions than answers.

The gameplay itself is pretty decent, it's nowhere a hard souls-like and even less if you happen on one of the more powerful build choices, but it also means the game becomes trivial to progress rather early on.

In the end I was left rather disappointed by it, because what started out as a interesting story just falls flat later on in what feels like someone trying to make a game around a unfinished story, or simply ran out of time to add all the things they needed to it.
Even though I finished it in 20 hours (some being AFK hours) it felt longer, and I am not sure thats a good thing. Because I feel like I just played 50 hours because parts of it were just so empty.

I had fun with it and for the hours I put in, I am not disappointed in buying it. But I do really feel like it could have been a lot better.

Also, game can get rather wonky at anything above 60FPS, which is disappointing for a PC game, even more so when the game let you run it at above said framerate.

Although the game feel very dated, and the PC version is far from optimal. The game itself is rather entertaining.
The story was interesting enough to keep me playing even if the actual action was pretty dull. I do however not particularly enjoy this type of gameplay to start with.
It became a lot more enjoyable towards the end.

It took me roughly 6 hours to complete the game and I am pretty satisfied with it. I played better, but I also played far worse.

Just nope.
I am only 90 min in but there is nothing that motivates me to play more between the horrendous translations and the dull combat.
If you want a anime combat game, just play Fatal Bullet instead. It might have sucky controls but it was actually entertaining in comparison.
