Solid entry in the roguelike (as in, games like Rogue) genre. Experimenting with items and abilities is equally rewarding and baffling, music is pretty chill, soundscape is the expected variety of vile and amusing. A couple of mechanics can be frustrating, like being attacked by enemies on other screens, and named enemies can be a pretty brutal vibe check for your build if you're not an Im-Sim brained turbo optimizer.
If you like old school dungeon crawls, weird fantasy, and simulationist sandboxes, Caves of Qud is a solid recommend.

A heartbreakingly low-effort, compromised version of my favorite game. The original PC port was a technical nightmare, plagued by frame drops and framerate dependent game logic, to say nothing of what the lack of anti-cheat allowed to happen in multiplayer. But it was also visually striking and had a boldness to its shadows and light that have caused some passages to by burned into my memory.
This "Remaster" smoothes over the visual flair and stark contrasts, tosses out assets that give the game's world a unique look, and carelessly unifies the color grading. If games are art, this is an amateur restoration covered in smudges and a stranger's fingerprints.
Password matchmaking is nice, I guess.

$4 USD to get a pair of shorts for the new survivor. I've seen gacha games nickel and dime people less.
