Absolutely spectacular.
As a self hating Destiny fan since the launch date of the first game, this culmination of 10 years of Destiny is truly incredible. From campaign to side content to exploration, Bungie really outdid themselves this time. Easily the best expansion to date in my humble opinion. Prismatic is awesome, the Legendary campaign is intense and challenging, and the end all be all first 12 player activity "Excision" to finish up the campaign that launched after World's First Raid Race concluded (and the cutscenes during/following) had me in tears. What a brilliant way to cap off a 10 year saga. The only real tragedy through it all is that Lance Reddick wasn't able to reprise his role as Zavala. Don't get me wrong, Keith David does an incredible job, but after 9 years of Lance I was heartbroken that he wasn't here to see this. Rest in peace, Commander, you will be and already are sorely missed. While, in the same breath, a huge thank you to Keith for filling the shoes of the big blue, and continuing to carry his legacy into the future.

Thanks, Bungie. This game, as well as some of your corporate decisions over the years have filled me with a lot of resentment at times. But the actual devs themselves very obviously love this game as much as us long time players do, and it shows more than ever in The Final Shape. While this beast of a saga has made me hate myself for coming back time and time again, it has also given me countless hours and experiences with close friends, and I have grown so attached to these characters and this universe. I really can't wait to see how Bungie tackles the next chapter of Destiny's life, and here is to hoping that you mad lads can give us another 10 years. Cheers <3

WARNING::: This game is a perfect example of why I wish there was a "Middle" option for rating games on steam. I am recommending this game, but it is VERY poorly optimized. My rig is well above the recommended specs for the game, yet frames are ALL over the place, sometimes running smooth as butter and other times being an absolute clunky, stuttering nightmare.

This game in itself though, is really great so far. An awesome extension on all of the systems of DD: Dark Arisen, while having improved graphics and new systems in place to satiate the hunger that Dark Arisen fans have held for all these years. This while boasting stunning vistas, fun exploration, well thought out combat with many abilities and combos for each vocation, and the extension of strategy such as breakable objects in the environment (such as bridges) and throwables (such as explosive casks) that you can use add further complexity to combat encounters.

The Pawn system and being able to climb up onto large enemies/monsters to hack, slash, and stab your way to victory are still major highlights, and a fairly stunning world with all sorts of nooks, crannies, caves and holes to explore to reward you with discoveries from gear to valuables.

If this is a game you think you would enjoy, you probably will. Just be very wary of what you are getting yourself into. I have no doubt that Capcom will work to iron out the bugs and smooth the edges, hopefully doing much to optimize the state of the game. I know that for many people such as myself, the poor optimization isn't a dealbreaker at launch for a game that I have so highly anticipated, but I could see many other people refunding this in the first half hour at the current state of the game. I'm not saying that it is "OK" for it to be in this state, far from it. It is honestly kind of depressing that Capcom, who recently have been putting out almost all bangers that are incredibly well optimized and realized products, have put this out in the state that it is currently in. Seems like the type of game that if your not running a 3-5 thousand dollar machine with a 4090 and a beast of a CPU you are almost certainly going to have issues, regardless of how you approach graphical setup and tweaking.

Also, apparently there are Microtransactions in the game, which is absolutely disgusting for a single player game with so much quality content to be enjoyed. Really soils the idea of the product that has been put out. However, I can't say much more on the MTX, for I have not seen them, looked for them, or have any intention of doing so. I've seen reviews saying you have to pay 1.99 to change your characters appearance, but it can be done in game for the cost of 500 RC (a currency you get for traveling with your pawns and fighting monsters. I currently have thousands of RC and I only have a rough 5 hours in the game.)

Overall, Thanks Capcom for putting out another quality game that I can't wait to put dozens of hours into. But also, **** you Capcom for tainting what should be nothing but a recommendable product with a very poorly optimized launch and MTX in a single player game.

Bittersweet. Definitely recommended if you feel you can get past the optimization, definitely not recommended if you are someone who falls into MTX pitfalls or are driven mad but dropping framerates in some areas.

This game was always going to be anomaly. It seemed near impossible to advertise, with almost everyone wanting something different out of Bethesda's first new IP in 25 years. Some people, mostly those who really wanted "Skyrim/Fallout in Space," will be or are already pretty satisfied with what they got. Because this is exactly that, it is a Bethesda ass Bethesda game, set in space.
For those who were expecting this to be Bethesda making a No Man's Sky or Star Citizen, I really do feel bad for. I never expected that, but that's because I've been following Bethesda's output, both publishing and in house development, for the better part of 3 decades. However, I VERY much understand why people went into this game thinking that way. If your not a huge Bethesda fan already, then a lot of the marketing would have been very misleading.

Let me definitely say, this game is not perfect. In fact, as someone who honestly quite loves this game, I would give it a solid 8.5/10. There is some performance hindrances on PC, I have a 3060/6700XT/16gb Ram/3TB NVME SSD. And even with that, what I would consider a solid "Middle Ground" of a machine, I need to run it on medium-low in almost all of the cities and populated locations, otherwise the frame rate takes an ABYSMAL turn, dropping down to as low as sub 30 FPS. However, everywhere that ISNT a main city, runs well on high-ultra graphics holding a solid 60-110 FPS, which feels and looks great.
This is a HUGE step up for Bethesda is so many ways, while at the same time being a step back in some of their core focuses.
Things like Spaceship Building, Outpost construction, Hand Crafted Questlines, Looting, Side Stories, Characters, and random encounters can range anywhere from pretty decent to absolutely stellar. Some of the better gaming moments I've had in a while.
Other things, such as actual space "exploration," the restrictions of not technically having a whole "planet" at your disposal when you arrive at one, and more so having a large chunk of procedural generated content and random encounters, the lack of ground vehicles or being able to actually fly your ship out of or into the atmosphere, and things like this, are definitely more lacking.

But that's the thing to keep in mind. This is NOT a space sim. This is NOT a game about exploring every inch of a planet, digging into its mines and caves, and flying in and out of atmospheres like No Man's Sky.
This is a Bethesda game. This is Skyrim is Space. Fallout in Space. Space is the *Backdrop,* not the *attraction.* This is a game that you need to come in to with a want to engage in reasonably dense RPG systems, build outposts and starships, "Assume a role" of an explorer, or pirate, or member of one of the games many factions.

There is a lot that sort of disappointed me about this game, but there was just as much, probably more, that absolutely blew me away and made every moment of my journey so far worth it.

I'm nowhere near done with this game when it comes to completion sense, and I imagine as modders go to town with this game and Bethesda rolls out DLC and expansions that this will be a game I sink hundreds of hours into in the next decade. A definite Masterpiece in my eyes, even if it is a defninitely FLAWED masterpiece as well.

Update: Just found Mimimi will be closing it's doors after some odd 15 years making incredible titles. While being such an incredible shame that this dev team is shutting down, I hope they know how proud they should be of their work and this absolute masterpiece that they are going out with a bang on. Seriously, Mimimi, thank you for everything and I hope you all land on your feet quickly.

Mimimi puts out another crazy good banger that wont get nearly the recognition it deserves (probably.) Seriously a masterpiece. Sat down to play for 20 minutes, until ending up finally going to bed after 5 hours and screwing my sleep. Absolutely worth it. This Dev Team is basically the Master and Commander of Tactical Stealth/Action Strategy games. I've loved every title they have put out, and with every new installment they evolve and branch out their formula, while exploring new worlds/ideas at the same time. There is a certain point where it just clicks and you go "Ahhh, I'm home."
When you execute a perfect shadow combination after tirelessly mulling over the location and patterns of patrolling guards and security measures, it's gamegasmic. Thanks mimimi, for servicing an itch that only you know how to properly scratch.

Awesome game. Absolutely stellar graphics, especially when considered this game is mainly made by one single person.
Combat is fluid and fun, fights are crunchy and graphic. Cool abilities mixed with a few different guns at your disposal with alternate fire modes make combat varied and interesting.

It is SHORT though. VERY short game. Like you will be lucky if your first run through the game lasts more than 2.5 hours.

I've revisited a couple times just to shoot some stuff and enjoy the game as it is for a bit. But there isn't a ton of actual "replay value" asides from just enjoying the game again, which it does lend to.

For most people, probably not worth full price. But if you have a Jackson to burn and enjoy a quick fun shooter, this has got your name on it.
