Early Access Review
I started playing this game in 2013. I stopped playing it around 2018/19 and just recently started to give it another try. I only played the client version of the game but I would assume I have around 1-2k hours in this game.
Let me start by saying that Bigpoint managed to completeley change this game from how it used to work when the level cap was changed from 55 to 100. Every old system/mechanic to increase your player stats was changed rendering your old characters which you spent hundreds or thousands of hours to build useless. Before Dark Legacy it was considered normal for a tank to have 10k HP when the max level was level 45 in 2015 and around 150k or so when the max level was 55 in 2019 but now (at max level) you have millions(!) of HP while also dealing hundreds of thousands of damage.

The change to level cap from 55 to a 100 ruined this game and since I started playing again recently it feels like a completely different game. When the max level was 45-55 back in the mid 2010s the game was imo at it's peak. You had a couple of set items/unique items which you could find at events/bosses with a decent amount of luck needed. Now set items and uniques drop everywhere and apparently you now have to improve your gems/wisdom tree to get good stats. Absolute garbage and non sensical.

I remember that in the old DSO you were happy if you managed to get a complete set from an event after doing dozens/hundreds of runs in the event dungeons for multiple days on end. The devs didnt understand that people have no problem grinding a boss a hundred times in order to finally get the items they wanted. Nobody needs dozens of unnecessary sets which are often not even used because there are only 2-4 sets/uniques which are meta at max level anyways. The devs made this game too complex for no reason. Instead of the insane updates implemented after 2019 the game would be 10x better if they didnt do anything instead or maybe added 1-2 more events.

Now this new version of the game is just taken to the extremes with insane stats and an unnecessary max level at 100. The stupid thing about this level cap however is the fact that the most effective way to get to max level is by finding a party with a level 100 char in order to get carried around the map while not doing anything. Something which wasnt possible in the past because of XP blocks (If you were in a group with a member who was 5+ levels above you you didnt get any XP).

PvP also got worse. People are running around with 4,0 attack speed and a movement speed so fast that sometimes the game doesnt properly render it so it looks like they are literally floating around the map like a space ship.

Since I started playing again this year I asked other players about their opinion regarding the state of the game and most people agreed with me that the devs ruined this game in the past 3 years. There is a general feeling (in my opinion) that a large chunk of the player base is aware that they are on a sinking ship and its only a matter of time until the game completely dies. Most of the old players have left and the ones still remaining are probably only playing this game because of a sense of nostalgia.

The best thing the devs could do imo is to release "Classic" servers parallel to the existing ones where the max level is 50/55 and all the old rules of the game work again. This was already a topic years ago, but was completely ignored by Bigpoint. I believe that then a huge amount of old players would return who abandoned the game after Dark Legacy.
