As a long time fan of little nightmares this game just does not live up to anything the previous games played the groundwork for.

Firstly the story. The game focuses on Low's story when it does choose to actually develope the story. As someone who played as Alone I felt sidelined and like a side character in Low's story (what little story there is), not the greatest feeling in a $40 game that has a 3-4 hour runtime

The levels feel very disconnected and unrelated to anything going on. It feels as if they had ideas for levels but no idea how they wanted to connect them together so they just decided to have mirrors that connect these otherwise completely unrelated areas. The only thing that really ties the levels together is the candy and the Eye Corporation branding/locations.

There seems to be no message this game is trying to tell. Little nightmares 1 had a lot of focus on gluttony, 2 had a very strong message about media and media consumption. I really struggle to see any message in this game, the factory level is the only one where I thought the message the game was going for might have been overconsumption but in later levels that message does not transfer.

Coop in this game really feels like it holds little to no significance, I went in expecting unique puzzles and chases that centered on the fact we now have 2 separate characters with separate cameras and ability but the most you will ever do teamwork wise and ability wise together is shoot some enemy's with the bow then hit them with the wrench. Most multi-player elements of this game serve to hold you back rather than push you forward as most of them are just switches, boxes, or boosts you need 2 players to do. Just feels like the game is coop just because it can be.

The "abilitys"/tools feel underutilized and sort of pointless, apart from the first chapter the wrench is used for just bashing, we could already do this in little nightmares 2 with tools you could just grab, the fact its a wrench is really never used and it could just as easily be a pipe or a a bat and it would have no gameplay or plot difference after chapter 1. The bow is the unique tool here and even so its underutilized and 90% of its interaction are for shooting buttons which we could throw things at in previous games. The fact the bow is also the slightly more useful tool contribute to the feeling of Alone being the side character.

Puzzles were the absolute easiest in the franchise by far and 99% are about getting from point A to point B rather than solving any puzzle, more of a walking simulator with obstacles than a puzzle game.

There is a lot more I could say about this game but I think I have said enough. I own the expansion pass so I will be coming back to play again in a year (yes a whole year untill both dlc are released) and I will see if they can somehow wrap up the really incomplete and directionless story they told in the 4 chapters.

If I could refund i would

I can say with confidence, after having beaten the base game, DLC, and getting all achievements, that this game is a masterpiece. The sense of discovery and wonder you feel as you uncover the solar system and its secrets is unlike anything I have ever experienced in a game. The soundtrack is impeccable and only serves to elevate the experience even further. All of this makes Outer Wilds feel more like an experience than a game, and you can only truly have this experience once. And there's something beautiful about that. Outer Wilds is about the journey, not the destination, so remember to smell the flowers.

Best roguelike game not even close. You can play solo but playing 2 player makes it 10X as fun. The high light tiers in this game require a lot of team coordination. Fun Game

As the game is right now i would say do not buy it. fun for the first 4 stages but the 5th stage is completely bugged and near impossible. The AI of the partygoers is inconsistent and random. of the 2 hours I have played this game i would say at least an hour and 20 minutes has been on this level alone. the game should not have launched like this. shouldn't have taken much play testing to realize this level was not ready for the game. even in early access, your game should still be in a somewhat playable state. but that's just not the case as it is right now. the game is fun and has potential, but as is I would say wait for a full release.

Great replay value, very strategical and fun at the same time. With tense moments and moments where i am dying of laughter. Fun by yourself and fun with friends. Fun as survivor, fun as killer. Fun with DLC, fun without DLC. New content frequently keeping the game fresh and adding even more replay value, and developers who care. Everything you could ever want from a game is in this masterpiece of game.
