The city itself is stunning. Parts are certainly recognizable, while others have been tastefully updated to make the flow of traffic a bit less congested. To my amazement, streets are decently packed with other cars, and the variety of locations seems excellent.

The new writing is fantastic. I really like the characters, who have some nice depth to them even in the few missions we've seen (Paulie and Sam especially).

Performances seem really good. I know not everyone will like the casting choices, but these feel like real people to me. Tommy might be a bit on the tough and gruff side, but I hope he mellows out some through parts of the game- you know, character development and having an arc.

The cars are amazing. Some really cool cars that are nice to see, with a good way of handling customization.

Ralphie and Vincenzo are great. They are wonderful characters who go above just 'guy who gives you cars' and 'guy who gives you guns' and actually feel integrated into the Salieri family.

The Salieri family feels like a crime family. I love seeing so many people lounging around the bar. It's wonderful seeing the DOn's bodyguard Carlo, people talking, etc. The bar feels like a real place that people would actually hang out, shooting the ♥♥♥♥ and waiting for work.

The gunplay seems decent. On classic difficulty, there's definitely a challenge to be had there. I would've liked to see them add a few new weapons, but it looks like it's just the same roster as the OG. My only real complain is the Service Revolver is an extremely anachronistic Colt Python, which didn't come out until 1955. It's quite obvious, compared to a correct 1930s police service revolver, in terms of appearance.

Music is even better than I'd expected. While there wasn't as much of the returning original themes and interpretations there of as I would've liked, the original music is fantastic. The little bit of the radio I've heard is wonderful, and the original music used in races oozes atmosphere of the era and heightens the action. It also helps enforce the tone, which seems to be a bit more playful in missions like Fairplay, than they might've been in the OG.

I like some of the streamlining they've done, in terms of mechanics. Shooting out of cars looks much more practical here (which is good, since they've made car chases more common by the looks of it). Stealth seems quite a bit better than the original. Melee combat, while simple, shouldn't be as frustrating as it was in the OG- it could be a right pain to deal with some of the melee missions...just keep clicking and backing up, while hoping Sarah or Paulie doesn't get killed right away.
