I’ve played a bunch of RPGs, but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt still hits different. I first played it on PS4 when it launched, and now I’m back at it on PC with Death March difficulty. And this mode really forces you to play smart. You can’t just charge into fights. You need to prep your potions, apply oils, time your dodges and the whole thing. It’s way more intense, but also way more fun.

Even in 2025, this game looks amazing especially with the next-gen update. The world still feels alive, full of stuff to do, and random events that somehow turn into memorable quests. Even the side quests are so well-written.

The DLCs? Next level. Hearts of Stone brings in an emotional story, while Blood and Wine adds a whole new map, new characters, and new gameplay mechanics like Mutations. Honestly, Blood and Wine feels like its own game. If you’re thinking of picking this up, just go for the Complete Edition totally worth it.

What I love most is how every character feels real. Even the ones that show up for just one quest feel like they belong in this world. The choices you make actually matter and can change how the story plays out in big ways.

And oh… Gwent. The in-game card game is dangerously addictive. At some point, it’s like the game shifts from being an action RPG to a full-on card game and honestly, I didn’t mind at all.
