At first you may think the combat is 'clunky' and rigid, and you'd be right. But the more you play the more you will understand the game's unique magic and buff systems and you will feel more in control of your character. By the time you get a good build set up you will enjoy the combat a lot more.

I strongly recommend the combat HUD mod from Nexusmods which allows you to see how long your buffs will last and how much health and stam you have left, it is such a huge qol improvement that doesn't affect the gameplay balance at all.

I've just finished the base game. Now onward to the DLCs!
