Like the galaxy, it has great potential.

Warframe really is one of the best Free to Play games currently around. Yes, there's a heavy emphasis on grinding. Yes, you can simply pay to get everything (and early on, buying a tenno and a weapon or 3 is not a bad idea). Yes, there's some healthy repetition here and there. However, this game is constantly evolving and more Tennos, weapons, planets, and locations are being added every month. The devs really seem commited to making this a game that people want to play. And it is extremely playable in a way that's fun both solo and with friends. Most importantly, with a wide selection of Tennos, each with their own playstyle, abilities, and multiple mod options, everyone will find the right Tenno to fit his or her playstyle. A word of warning: the time commitment is real on this one. And if it grabs you, you may find yourself playing Warframe more and more...and at the expense of anything and everything else.

It's more XCOM...done better. The RNG is still real. You will lose soldiers that are near and dear to you. But if the aliens lose we all win!

What starts off as relatively easy rogue-like side scrolling shooter eventually turns into one of the most frenetic, chaotic, frustrating, and enjoyable times I've had all year. You will scream at your computer screen when things go poorly, but shout a battle cry like none other when victory is achieved. Moments like those are what make good games great. And Risk of Rain is a great game.
