Unbelievable tight atmosphere with some mystic-dark-ish vibes. The jump-run part feels natural and the boss fights are all awesomely unique with their own catch. Admittedly the camera is sometimes janky and jumping tends to not be smooth all the time but it happens rarely, therefore you never feel like not being in control.

Hollow Knight secures easily a spot in my all time favorites. A very well made game and 100% recommended from my side.

Update: Team Cherry added with another FREE expansion named "Godmaster" one of my favourite mechanics: A boss mode is now available besides a ton of more content while still only costing 15 bucks (10 euros at the time of writing). I almost feel bad paying so little for such a masterpiece. We don't deserve you Team Cherry. You're way too good for this industry.

Update 2.0 for 2020 Steam Autumn-awards: easily still my all-time favorite game. A pure craft of passion and a love letter for everyone who loves metroidvanias <3
