Early Access Review
I bought this game on a whim after hearing someone mention it on youtube. It is a little gem; I regret nothing. It is still being worked on so there are updates and hotfixes fairly frequently, but I quite enjoy it. I've played 8 or so hours at this point and still have a lot of the game ahead of me, that being said, at night the sun goes down, the moon goes up, the stars come out and the forests fill with a eerie fog and the game music shifts to a slightly eerie feeling, during the various seasons the game is beautiful with a wonderful shift in what resources are available according to what time of year it is. Hunting is a fun little challenge without being overly hard and the predators although a little scary the first time hunting them aren't so difficult that you won't survive. The game unfolds slowly, allowing you to do a few basic things to survive at first then unfurls via skill trees and technology giving you a wider focus over time. The npcs although limited in dialogue can be traded with and the quests are easy but help certain npcs gain some depth. Overall, if you like a easy to medium difficulty survival game with building, gathering, farming and the occasional story quest I recommend giving it a try.

I loved the idea of this game and picked it up on sale, unfortunately, the controls are so awful i had to uninstall it and request a refund. The game is clearly made for a controller and the keyboard/mouse controls are a joke, nothing is intuitive, the movement is terrible, the audio volume apparently doesn't control the audio volume of any cut scenes, so have fun with your ears being blasted, oh, and you can't skip them either. The tutorials even on full tutorial mode are minimal and flash by your screen too fast/are to cryptic to understand what the game is asking you to do or how to do it most of the time. And those keyboard controls? have fun trying to interpret what the symbols mean because apparently no one thought to just tell you what the key is by it's name, instead they use a keyboard symbol . like space, instead of saying 'press space' it just shows a symbol that looks like a sideways square parenthesis. I haven't had a keyboard with that symbol printed on it since the 90's. I had to google wtf that symbol was. how about backspace? once again using an old 90's keyboard symbol with arrows instead of just saying 'press backspace'. All i wanted to do was run around being a monkey, instead i spent a half our frustratingly pressing every button on my keyboard trying to figure out what they wanted me to push to get in and out of menu's or even past the first title screen, which even with keyboard and mouse enabled still says 'press a' when they really mean, hit enter. if you have a controller it might be worth it, but if you play with a keyboard and mouse, don't bother. Note that it is also reflecting my play time incorrectly, it says 6 hours, in reality i played less than an hour tops, it seems to be including the time it was attempting to install.

No Matter how old this game gets it stands the test of time, I still play this game daily, have ever since it came out and now have over 2222 hours logged. It is the first game I install on any new computer I buy and the only game I come back to again and again. I've you've never played skyrim, you're missing out.
