Don't listen to the chuds, give this game a shot. It is no more flawed than any Dragon Age before it, and this time the combat is actually fun.

A poker rogue-like that came out of nowhere and took over all of my free time. Simply peak. In a just world, Balatro would win GOTY this year.

An X-COM experience that's familiar while still being different enough to stand on its own.

This game does away with the expendable soldiers and their permadeath in favour of having characters with their own skill trees and personalities, for some this is a change for the worse, in my opinion it's very much fine. I like the characters and their abilities feel very cool to use. This game also has a new system of "Breaches", which is to say that scene in cop movies where they kick the door and get in in slow motion, and it's really fun! I wish you could use the breaching tools in every type of breach, but that's a fairly minor problem that doesn't come up a lot.

All that to say: It's more X-COM! It has a couple new bells and whistles and maybe it isn't as replayable as the entries before it, but for a spin-off that's trying new things in a smaller setting it's tons of fun. Would definitely recommend it if you want more X-COM but have played EU or 2 to death.
