A solid 9/10 for me. Delivered (almost) everything I wanted from a Mad Max game.

Pros:
- Super pretty skyline and environment (even if it is a lot of… wasteland, they did a bang up job making it something worth looking at)
- Hand to hand Combat is solid (Arkham styled if you didn’t know already, but don’t fix what isn’t broken and that system is good to begin with)
- Car combat is intense, satisfying, and cinematic. I especially loved taking out convoys!
- Upgrading the toggling the Magnum Opus (Max’s car) offers lots of options to fit your needs
- Exploring the wasteland and what it had to offer was genuinely fun (to me), and collecting History Relics offers a glimpse into how things used to be prior to the world descending into madness, diving into the Mad Max lore and world
- Raiding camps felt awesome, particularly breaking in by destroying the camp’s defenses.
- Collecting things outside the car made the wasteland much more terrifying. This is something I see listed as a negative a lot, having to get out of the car and manually collect scraps and such things, but I appreciated it. It was a risk getting out of the car to collect that stuff, knowing a War Boy party could be just over the horizon
- The story makes for an excellent prequel to the 2015 film, even if they’re not officially (source needed?) linked by any means
- Chum Bucket
- The desert storms were legitimately terrifying, both in appearance (hard as hell to navigate do to SAND and lightning strikes) and in sound (roaring winds)
- LOTS of stuff to do. I dumped nearly 60 hours into the game clearing regions of threats and doing the main story. That doesn’t even include all the side stuff you can do.
Cons:
- Water, food, and gasoline hardly matter much. Ideally, the theme of it being a harsh wasteland should be felt more strongly through the scarcity of such things, but they’re easy to come by even early on in the game and only become more common to the point of being irrelevant later
- Getting hit by a car or a boss? Pshaw. Bring it on. Getting punched by a War Boy? OW FUDGE THAT HURTS.
- Second to last final boss difficulty was insane. Final boss was way too easy (cool, but easy).
- Top Dog "bosses" could use more variety
- Thunderpoon makes car combat WAY too easy toward the end game.
- Searching for Insignias and Scrap piles within a location, camps in particular, could be one of the most obnoxious chores at times
- Crow Dazzle’s noise wagon
- Disarming Minefields was an overly tedious chore that required the use of Chum Bucket’s MEDIOCRE buggy and the dog’s (annoying) barking
- Auto aim of the sniper rifle. I could not for the life of me figure out how to turn it off. Granted I didn’t google it, so there might be a way. If there is, then ignore this.

Overall for me, it’s a great game. Not GOTY material in my opinion, but an incredible game for those wanting to delve into the Wastelands of Max’s world and experience it for themselves or even a fan of sandbox style games.
