As someone who played Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, Shining Force, Vandal Hearts and many other titles that this game could be compared to, I would say Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga is one I can 100% recommend to players who love the genre.

With the above being said, there are a few issues that I noticed while playing the game. During my Warlord Honestman (Ironman mode) run I noticed that the AI was EXTREMELY manipulated. You could make the AI do anything you wanted them to do which took away a significant part of the challenge.

PROS:

Although the story seemed to be all over the place it was a good one.
Unit diversity
Different team compositions available
Perma-death for units (I played on Warlord and this is huge on my +++ list)

CONS:

UI is very clunky, makes army management a chore
No Voice Acting! Games with voice acting increase immersion!

One of my favorite CRPGs ever! Both Pathfinders are well made and the stories keep you engaged

Chess + Football = Brain Hurtin!!! Games fantastic

Fantastic story. Combat provides a challenge in most fights.

As a fan of X:Com this is what I wish it would transition to.

Brings me back to my High School glory days! Game has great potential!
