I've been playing since day 1. I base every computer I test whether or not it can run this game. System requirements have gone up over the years but it does benefit from dual cores and a decent (talking Radeon 4650 or better, something $15 on eBay) video card. There's still a fair amount of decent servers out there.

Even though this will not budge the rating for the game, I give it 1/10 for the simple fact that the system requirements are absolutely wrong because the game is so full of bloat. Just try to play with an Athlon XP 2800+ with a Radeon 9250, which both easily surpass the supposed minimum requirements. You're going to get less than 10fps on minimum resolution and quality. AMD's mobile APUs such as the A10-4600m (2.3Ghz base, 3.2Ghz Turbo, slightly faster than Q6600) and a Radeon 7660G which is about as fast as a desktop 5550 cant play the game on aminimum settings/resolution in a moderately filled server past 35fps. It's a slideshow. From someone who bought the game and played it on an X2 4200+ and 8800GTS just fine this is ridiculous. I have a netbook with an i3-3227u that for some reason plays it better, but still not great.

Valve got lazy as possible and hasn't optimised this game at all, despite being a cash cow for them. This should be running just fine on Atom 3735F ultrabooks, not struggling on powerful APUs. OPTIMIZE THE GAME.

Golf With Your Friends is a solid game that runs on weak laptops and looks solid on high end systems. The levels can be mastered so adding the random ball feature in multiplayer is a must if you're playing with people who have been playing a while. The new dunk feature can be kind of difficult due to the perspective at times but it's still enjoyable. For $6 it's a worthwhile multiplayer game.
