I honestly can't get enough of this game. Even after you've completed all challenges on a map it's still fun to mess around and see what you can get away with.

It's also plenty of fun to load up a map just to mess around and cause as much chaos as possible, though doing so starts to expose some of the limitations of the AI when you see a lone civilian calmly standing amidst a sea of corpses without any reaction.

RimWorld has provided me with years of entertainment, and I expect to get plenty more years of fun before I get bored of it.

The plot is a completely ridiculous mashup of various tropes, but somehow it still ends up being entertaining. It's a fantastic sandbox to play around in even when not following the main campaign missions.
