This game is not for people who only a modernized version of the original RE3. Re3 remake is much more fluid and cuts out a few memorable parts of the original, but in my opinion most of what is either cut or replaced is done well enough for this game to get a positive review. I'm definitely a little upset that the Raccoon City vs Zombies cutscene from the original Re3 wasn't remade, and that the knife is practically useless. I also really dislike Carlos's counter being so different to the dodge mechanic. I prefer dodging enemies to countering them, so playing as Carlos had a lot of frustrating moments in every playthough with him that I did.

The dodge mechanic is probably my favorite part to this game. A dodge is something that I didn't know I wanted in literally every zombie game ever. Pretty much every zombie game has a zombie attack where you get lunged at, and being able to dodge instead of slowly moving my character out of the way is a really refreshing change. The fast pace of the story is a mostly positive thing for me. On one hand it feels short after the first playthrough, but on the other I grinded through hardcore to get the infinite rocket launcher in less than 15 hours. This is probably one of the only games that I have passed multiple times in the same year. And as a bonus, there's limited modding support on Nexus which make the game much more nostalgic. There's also a first person mod that (with the program Vorpx) will let me do a VR playthrough of RE3.

Horrible control scheme, kept getting stuck in walls. Instant refund.

Bad graphics, can't choose resolution, and frame locked at 60 and it STILL DIPS on this 1080 pc. The gameplay looks nice, but can't get past the technical stuff. Don't buy.

If you're looking for the best example of an RPG there is in gaming, get Dragon Age.

Considering what Obsidian had to work with, they made a really good game.
