I played it the first time back in March and thought it was okay. When I came back to it now (May 20, 2021), it's just not a good racing game for the price. The races are too easy it seems, nor is there any skill or thought involved in racing them so it feels like you're just racing a bunch of Hot Wheels cars around. The only tip the game should have is race the car with the best specs, press the accelerator down, and hope for the best. The story, as well intentioned as it is, is not great either and it kind of gets in the way at times (though the way those story elements are presented through podcasts does give it a little bit of, for lack of a better word, texture to the game as a whole, I thought that was a nice touch). I've barley touched Playground Events and the small amount I did finally play wasn't enough to interest me. It looked and felt like a crappy version of the create-a-park feature in Tony Hawk games but with Hot Wheels cars.

After eighteen hours I just find myself disappointed. Overall, the game is not good. I would not buy it full price, nor would I buy it half price. I would recommend Dirt 4 or Forza Horizon if you want a better game than this.

For the record: I love this game. I love flying around in a spaceship and mining and fighting and doing missions across the galaxy. I love that the ship is customizable to my liking. I love seeing the vast vistas the game has to offer. I. LOVE. This. Game. From the bottom of my heart.

That having been said, as a Mac user, I am done with this game and the problems that come about when trying to play it. I am done turning on the launcher and finding that it won't launch the game. I am done with uninstalling it and reinstalling to find it still not working. I'm done installing Mono framework for the billionth time to somehow still find it not working and somehow getting worse. I'm done uninstalling the current version to get a slightly older version that can somehow make the game work magically.

And I am so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ done with getting the game to FINALLY RUN, after hours of googling and downloading and uninstalling and reinstalling), to finally get into my favorite space flying simulator and actually play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, only to leave it for a couple weeks and come back find it not working again after there's been an update. In the words of a someone who's significant other is into some very weird things and is absolutely never going to stop incorporating it into foreplay: "♥♥♥♥ THAT ♥♥♥♥."

I realize that Apple is not meant for gaming. I realize that this may be Apple's fault for not having a system that allows for developers to code and port games easily into the operating system. I realize it takes a long time to fix issues on an environment that possibly only a segment of the player base uses. But if you're going to have your game on that system please, for the love of God and all that is holy, GIVE US SOME SUPPORT.

Overall, the game is a great experience that is plagued with recurring problems that make this game hard to enjoy in the long run.

Game- 10/10
Mac Port- 1/10 - Do NOT get it on Mac, get it on something else

PS- One of three things has to happen to get the game, and the devloper, back in my good graces:
1. Explain to me what is going on and how to fix it – This is a given.

2. Work with Apple to get a build of the game that works without any of the hurdles needed to get the game going – This is admitedly illogical and unrealistic as I'm sure the systems that are used to run the game are somehow incompatible with the MacOS interface in one way or another (thus the need for Mono Framework), but is it too much to ask for a developer to make a fully functioning game, or at the very least a game that STARTS AND RUNS?

3. Give me my money and the time I've spent on this game back – This is admitedly illogical and unrealistic, but I'm mad. I want to vent. I don't care if I get the money or not. I got my money's worth from the game anyhow.

I just feel I need to get something for what I'm going through. If I cant get anything, then fine. I've been burned to many times to care anymore.
