An absolute masterpiece!

As most people have realized by now this game is an absolute must-play unless you really don't like FF-esque games at all. The story, visuals, gameplay, emotional depth and especially the audio are something many of us forgot could even exist.

I will never quite understand the concept of the true endgame starting after the main story is completed and will note that it's quite easy to accidentally massively overlevel for the last major fight of the story (since nothing is stopping you from doing all that endgame exploration before facing the story main antagonist for the final time) - which did happen to me and definitely left a sour note on an otherwise exceptional experience. I wish there was a slight bit more guidance at this very point to make it obvious to non JRPG-afficionados that you won't in fact leave content behind by continuing the story as laid out.

Other than that i personally don't think the Phase 3 entry move by S**** aligns well with the peak-end-principle of a game that in no other way signals to you that using more than 3 characters has any uses. I'd be fine with it if there were other instances but I think a lot of people would end up there having 3 properly setup characters with no way of adjusting the remaining 2 leading to quite a bit of frustration at the very end of the experience.

Still - there is so much more here to love than to "hate" (or critique). DO get this game and i hope there is more to come from both the development studio and also the new Hans Zimmer that just jumpstarted his career!

An unbelievable pile of garbage!

I have played an insane amount of games in coop or competitive multiplayer, as did I ALL previous Anno titles. Almost no other games ever had issues with just simply inviting and playing together with friends, even WC3 had this figured out 15 years ago.

And yet for some reason its 2025 and Ubisoft again manages to mess it up so bad; the game is literally unplayable in multiplayer - as they did with EVERY SINGLE ANNO GAME CREATED since 1503.

How is it that you can make the same mistake every single time, while no other developer has anything close to it???!?!

Fire whoever is responsible for the networking and replace them with some random kid straight from the university and maybe at some point you can release a game and it's actually functional in the very mode that pretty much everyone wants to play.

If this was a first time, whatever - but seriously it is the exact same BS every Anno release - LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES!

Are we serious with this ♥♥♥♥?

Apparently a "AAA" can get away with not just having a max FPS limit of 90?!?!? WHY? but also requiring that you use it, because otherwise you literally can't zoom in and out of the map? What is this, some kind of twisted joke. My god i can't wait for Ubi to be bought out by tencent, this is beyond pathetic

While this game has a ton of well crafted content I unfortunately can't recommend spending full price.

As with so many WH40K Games QA/QC is the crux. I did end up finishing the game as the issues only became very apparent to me after I had passed the refund time frame, but I really wish I could've still done it.

I have played a lot of games, good and bad, cheap and expensive, indie and AAA but very very few compare to the absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bugs you'll fine in this game. Be it hard- or softlocks, graphical glitches, completely mindless interactions, false interactions, problems while lvling, incorrect line of sight, savegame corruption... the list goes on LONG - this game really has everything. It is just beyond me how this game even had a QA team at all, the amount of BS you have to deal with is far out of reach of anything bethesda could ever produce, you will literally lose you mind at times.

I ended up needing about 120h for the game and i am very well versed in these types of games. If this is one of your first xcom esque games you might need a lot more time as so many of the systems like lvling and items are incredibly complex (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but a good 10-15h of that time probably just went to trying to circumvent bugs - i kid you not.

So in a nutshell, does the game give you a rich deep story in the WH40K universe that you can immerse yourself in? - Absolutely.
But can i wholeheartedly suggest spending full price on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bugs? - Hell no!

Please if you are desperate and just want to play an awesome WK40K game like i did - just wait until this is 50% off. That's a reasonable price for the content you get... but don't pay full price, you'll end up hating that decision and subsequently wont enjoy it nearly as much.
