After playing this game as a solo for about 5k hours now, I can safely say that there is no "correct" way to play out a wipe, however, if you are playing "vanilla" rust as a solo and actually having a good time, it's simply because nobody has noticed your joy. The goal of most players you will encounter, is far and away from actually dipping a toe into the content the game offers beyond doing everything they can to deny you the experience of playing the game. In fact...you will undoubtedly run into more people who DO NOT play the game, or participate in a fraction of it's content, simply to rob you of your fun any time you open the doors of your base. I have witnessed this to such extreme levels that players will sit outside of the door of a base for HOURS, just to "go deep" on players that have less loot than can be acquired faster and easier by running a single monument...

But even with all of the negative things in the game...the toxicity of the community (especially those within the age range of 12-16... on almost every server...the cheaters...the racism and hatespeech...the griefers...the 1st day of wipe grubs....it all somehow barely takes away anything from the fun that can be had in this game...even by yourself.
