It's incredibly difficult to write an accurate review of this game, because in order to do that I would have to discuss the story and the subject matter and I honestly believe it is best experienced knowing nothing about either of them. Gone Home is something that needs to be experienced with an open mind. It is presented in the frame of a mystery, or a horror, but it is both and neither at all and so much more than what I was expecting. The story transforms as you progress through it and brings you to different places mentally and emotionally as you discover and learn more about the characters and what exactly has happened to them.
All I can say is, the narrative of the story is one that is extremely important to many people in the world, including myself personally, and it is so absolutely refreshing to see it done in such a tasteful and perfectly executed manner. The first time I played this game it honestly brought tears to my eyes, and I can give it nothing but the utmost praise because of it.
