Pretty chill game in my opinion. Nice to kick back, enjoy the sound and scenery while trying to master rollercoaster construction.
Not perfect, why there is no edge-scrolling is absurd. Not as in-depth as I would like, back-stage areas need to be much more.
Looking forward to getting stuck into the water park elements.

Appearance wise, this is how I wish I could build my towns in Minecraft.

Is this a good card game? I'm not sure.
But it's certainly easy to pick-up, quick to play and taking up an awful lot of my free time.

I'd consider this a good entry-point to turn-based shooters. Smaller maps, less mechanics and quick encounters. Yet, with plenty of nuance in character choice and how to begin each scenario.
If you're wondering whether XCOM is for you, this is probably the place to start.

If you're looking for a game to kill multiple, multiple hours, then this is the one for you. Whether you want to peacefully grow crops (or animals) or hunt creatures in the dungeons, the choices are endless.

Beautiful visuals, great music and a cast of characters that are lovely. If I could jack my brain into a game and leave there, this would be the one I would live the rest of my live out in.

Jurassic Park; GREAT!

Park management game; GREAT!

Total boredom

The warning should have been when the title screens showed up Frontier, makers of Planet Coaster. A theme park management spiritual successor to Rollercoaster Tycoon. It has the hallmarks of it's predecessor, but never managed to capture the same charm or challenge.

Jurassic Park goes full bore in the wrong direction. There is no challenge to the gameplay. Vast chunks of time I just spent waiting for more fossils or research to complete, so you can send them out again. Sure the dinosaurs are cool, but why am I genetically altering them? Why is the Security guy giving me a challenge to increase my profits? When does the cool stuff happen?

I think I'll go back to Zoo Tycoon.

Overall, for £9.99 Spectrum Retreat served it's purpose. It had just enough story and just enough puzzle to keep me going to the end. Though, the frustrations with the end did make it a close call as to whether I would make it to the final scene. Had this been priced higher I would have a harder time justifying the spend. But, if you want something that at least makes a decent attempt at a Portal/Talos Principle, without some of the absolutely monstrous puzzles they could throw at you, then it might want a look. Though, looking for anything more than a casual challenge and this will not scratch that itch.

Set pieces and cutscenes that transition from dark and forboding, to comedy, then to bombastic moments all in the space of around 30 seconds. To say this game goes places with it's story and setting is a huge understatement.

The combat is a little clunky, don't go round expecting to be a sharpshooter headshotting your way through. Take what you've learnt from most modern day shooters and throw it out the window. Here you just need to load up and carve your way through Nazis.

An interesting game that lacks any finality or substance.

While Beat Cop can have you running around like a loon trying to fulfill all the tasks that are asked of you on any given day, those situations are rare. Which is surprising given how much the game tries to make out that every day is a struggle. Out of the 21 days I only failed to do everything needed on 1 day.

The overarching storyline is interesting yet culminates in a totally lacklustre way. Not every day has a plot point in relation to the story, so I often wondered whether I was missing something. Reality is, you make it to Day 21, you've completed the game in one form or another. And another reality is none of the endings are a satisfying end for all the monotonous stuff you've had to do for hours on end.

Episode 1 -

Suggests a great deal of potential for the future episodes. Don't go into this expecting the same emotional impact you ended Season 1 on though, you'll end up disappointed.

Still, a couple of moments that played on you though, which I won't mention for Spoilers. But, more than once felt panic, and had at least one gut-wrenching moment. Pretty good for a game not much longer than 2 hours.
