Massive scam. Pulling the plug for no reason other than greed. And just stupid greed as well. They really think they're gonna make money on like AI snoop dog or whatever. Yikes.

this game is doo doo. performance sucks. literally everything is just handed to u. u can't land a ship, u can't take off with a ship, u can't travel through space u just get a fade out to black and then ur at another planet. gun play is bad. movement is bad. it literally just sucks. graphics are dated. it's just doo doo. no man's sky > starfield. almost any other space game > starfield.

TLDR
Stay away for your own health.

Not free
This game is by no means ''free''. It's more like a demo if you don't pay for stuff. You're kind of expected to pay 10€, 4 times a year (seasonal activities), and also buy the new expansions that come out. If not, you won't have any refreshing content to play and you won't be able to follow along with the story. But if you don't care about the story. And you don't mind having literally nothing new going on ever. Then it's free.

Gameplay loop to advance
There has been no change in how endgame grinding for light levels work in the standard game for a long time. These changes are only accessed by paying for seasonal activities. Which grants you access to a few new activities to play that gives you powerful/pinnacle gear, breaking the standard loop (although I must say, it is basically the same activity each season, just with a different setting.)

Sunsetting
They've also removed so much of the game that I want to commit not live. Whole planets gone, insanely cool missions gone, weapons gone, It's sad. What I had to spend entire months getting you can now get from a kiosk, instead of the amazing missions with cool little background stories that I went through. (I've heard that this will no longer be the case for weapons. I'm not sure about missions and planets though).

Don't play this as your main game
I would not recommend this as a game to keep playing as a main game. I am just trapped in an eternal loop of suffering, draining me economically and spiritually. I try quitting, but always end up here again.

But...
I do however think people should play this for like a month or two. Because the missions and settings are all insanely dope. Unfortunately you have now missed the whole game because they removed the main storyline I played through at release, and also the first major expansion I paid for (the best one). Which hade one of the most dramatic and sad videogame cutscenes of all time in it. So sucks to suck I guess. And again. My money has been drained for content that I can no longer access.

Overall
This game is like heroin, you won't stop once you start. You might love it but deep, deep, deep down, you know this isn't healthy. You will be paying for stuff that won't feel much different from what you just paid for a month ago. No one knows what will stay in the game or be ''sunset'' (aka removed). Ín a year or 2 witch queen might not even exist anymore.
I don't recommend this game.

Sidenote on my time in the game
My hours in this game are about 2000+. I played on xbox for the first few years. Which also made me buy the dlcs on both pc and xbox. Which were (again) later removed so HAHAHHAHA imma end it all.

Edit: 574 hours later and I have not changed my mind.
