Early Access Review
If you like survivors-likes, this is the “one more run” loop done right: quick starts, satisfying power curve, and upgrades that actually change how you play. It trims the grind, keeps the screen readable even when chaos erupts, and makes every run feel like progress. Worth the price.

Arrisa's legs are more beautiful than Khazan's.

You can continue the game from demo. When I started the full version, I already had 11 achievements carried over from the demo.

The game runs very smoothly on PC, and it maintains around 50 FPS on Steam Deck with default (medium) settings

The game itself is a lot of fun. If you enjoy Souls-like games, you shouldn't miss this one. You can choose to parry (similar to Sekiro) or rely on perfect dodges (similar to Wukong) to match your playstyle, or you can use both.

The only downside is the price, which feels a bit high, but it might still be worth it.

I'm so tired and annoyed with people who keep criticizing the game AC Shadow and Ubisoft, even though they've never played it. They just criticize to satisfy their own bias and align with the trend. It's really a pity that they try so hard.

I'm happy for those who actually bought the game and gave genuine reviews. This is why the game gets good reviews—because they come from people who truly want to play it, not from those who blindly follow trends with prejudice while only watching YouTube clips without ever playing the game themselves.

And of course, I hate Ubisoft (sometimes I even wish Ubisoft would go bankrupt), but I don't hate AC Shadow.

The game itself isn't exactly great, but it’s not terrible either. There are both fun and boring aspects to it. However, it's not worth the full price. If it goes on sale, it might be worth it.

There are a few bugs that prevent me from progressing in the story, and I have to start a new game. It was a waste of time playing this game.

For those who say the game lacks diversity, there is ‘Black’ in the title

Demo vs. Full Game:
You’ve noticed the difference – the full game runs even smoother than the demo. That’s a promising sign!
Steam Deck Compatibility: Flintlock performs admirably on the Steam Deck, even at medium settings. It’s heartening to see games optimized for this portable platform.

Gameplay and Combat:

Souls-lite, Not Souls-like: Flintlock doesn’t shy away from its Souls-like inspirations, but it carves out its own identity. Combat involves locking onto foes, dodging, blocking, and unleashing axe attacks. However, there’s a Bloodborne-like twist: you wield a firearm that interrupts enemy attacks, adding an extra layer of strategy.

Gunplay and Melee: Ammo replenishes after melee strikes, sparing us the tedium of realistic flintlock reloading. The blunderbuss, in particular, delivers satisfying blasts that send enemies sprawling.
Graphics and Environment:

Visual Splendor: Flintlock boasts impressive graphics. Environments are beautifully rendered, immersing you in a world teetering between life and death. The attention to detail is commendable.

Atmosphere: [/b The game’s setting – a door left open to the afterlife – sets the stage for eerie beauty. It’s a place where gods clash with mortals, and the visuals reflect this cosmic struggle.

This game confuses me a great deal.

- The graphics that look bad still manage to be beautiful, capturing the essence of the game’s unique artistry and creating an atmosphere that resonates with players despite their initial shortcomings.
- The combat, while seemingly unrefined, ultimately delivers a deeply rewarding experience.
- The animations, contradictory in nature, blend unexpected grace with peculiar movements.
- The environment, deceptively simple, crafts a world that’s rich in detail upon closer inspection.

Despite the confusion, the game’s challenges spark a sense of curiosity and eagerness to overcome obstacles.

While the game may have its flaws that could warrant a lower rating, the overall experience it provides is so compelling that it deserves a high score.

Already 100% this game.
Annoying unresponsive control and some levels are unbalanced.
