If you're into FromSoft games, you'll like it. A lot of those noise surrounding this game is exactly that, noise. It's a game of efficiency. You'll learn optimal routes, important PoI's and landmarks that are must visits on the maps with "modifiers" (some spawn in a volcano, some a city) but for the most part that map remains stagnant outside these random modifiers.

Gameplay loop is there, allows you to experiment with skills, weapons and magic you may have never touched in base game. There is lots of fan service in return bosses from Dark Souls and Cosmetics you can purchase with in-game currency from other FromSoft games. All around, for 40$, a very good experience. I've paid more for less finished games, and for a style of gameplay I love and adore. You cannot go wrong.

Does it have quirks? Sure. Does is run well like the base game, for the most part yes. Some other new bosses have minor stuttering but nothing egregious that has resulted in death.

Most fun I've had with a JRPG since Persona 5 dropped.

This is an RPG of old with a modern lens for $50. You cannot beat it.

This game is an original masterpiece. It is a pleasant surprise amidst a sea of garbage of new release post 2020. One of the few games of the last decade to build up incredible hype and actually deliver on said hype.

If you're at all a Soulslike fan, try this genre bending boss-rush style version of a Soulslike. It's incredible and challenging. Over 100 bosses, nearly all of them are unique.

Stutters & FPS drop exist, to the extent that they at all impact my experience on a notable level? Not at all.

Don't let a minor gripe take away from the achievement in gaming that Shadow of the Erdtree is. Game is a 10/10 and feels like "Elden Ring 1.5" rather than a big DLC.

SOTE recreates the same magic as the base game, and the FromSoft DLCs that have come before it.

I see Hades. I buy Hades.
