Amazing!

There's a reason why everyone on the reviews has 500+ hours! This game is just supremely fun!
  • Great mod support
  • Very detailed and complex systems
  • Great balancing throughout the game
  • Very customisable world settings
No matter what stage your world is at, new mechanics are always being introduced—keeping the game fresh at all times. Bugs getting annoying? Uranium ammo. Coal not cutting it anymore? Nuclear reactors. Power armour getting thirsty? Portable nuclear fission reactor. Bugs getting annoying? Atomic bomb.

Price?
Is it worth £30? Definitely. I'd pay £60. Infact, you CAN pay £60. Just buy the amazing DLC also!
But what about a sale? I don't think i've ever seen this game on sale.

bad, boring, repetitive

Performance

Game performance has been getting steadily worse with every update.
Launch: high settings at 65 - 80fps
Now: lowest settings at 45 - 55fps
The lowest settings are so graphically disgusting that they are practically unplayable. On launch the game was 60gb, now its 120gb. Double.
(RTX 3060 + Ryzen5 5600x + 32gb ram)

The game is boring

All terrain types are the same.
  • Flat wetland with trees
  • Flat desert with rocks
  • Flat grassland
  • Flat glacier
  • Flat desert with rocks (red)
Terrain is just unengaging to traverse. In Deep Rock Galactic, a similar game, even just moving from point A to B is fun with all the different gadgets and abilities at your disposal. The levels themselves are also dynamic and vertical. In Helldivers this is not the case. All enemies are always on the same boring flat terrain and you always deal with them the same way - shoot them where the glowy thing is or in the head.
Mobility options are very limited and you'll spend most missions just holding sprint and running from A to B.
The missions are also basically all the same. Go to point A, interact with thingy, kill stuff, extract.
Destroying enemy spawns are also all the same. Hit thing that glows on the spawn and it explodes.

The game is just boring. There is a cool game there; however, once you've played 1 or 2 missions, you've basically seen what the entire game has on offer.
If you like mindless grinds this game is perfect for you.

Literally one of the worst games i have ever played.
Game design is awful, combat is really bad, enemies are bullet sponges, ammo is drip fed to you through a capillary tube, coop is unintuitive to set up and your partner will leave game everytime you switch missions,
the """""horror""""" is just goofy looking entities doing a bizzilion damage and not dying after 4 bullets.

How this game has a positive score is actually beyond me.

Early Access Review
Fun but lacking

This game is REALLY fun but, especially compared to another popular factory game, is lacking some really important features.
  • A system to create and paste blueprints
  • A system for automated building of blueprints-like robots in Factorio
  • A logic system that allows large factories to perform relatively smart decisions
  • An automated way to generate power early game
Not having blueprints makes the end-game significantly more tedious. Building new large factories with multiple levels is quite time consuming. The progression is also quite annoying early game. You basically need to beeline to coal so that you can automate energy production.

However!
Apart from that, the game is great :)
Being able to build vertically allows for really cool factories where a product can be passed down levels. You can also stack belts to create a Great Wall of Iron Transportation! You can stack factories on top of each other! You can build over a crater and have energy generation under the floor level and production lines above it!

Price?
Is it worth £35? Hmmm. I think you'll enjoy yourself more if you use that money on Factorio.
But what about a sale? If you can get it for under £25, go for it. It will definitely be worth it.
