Just as an upfront thing, this game will have been review bombed by salty gacha game tourists upset for stupid reasons. I don't normally do reviews, but for this I'll make an exception

Also at time of writing the review is based on my playtime using a Steam Deck, rather than a PC.

So far my experience with this game as of the time of writing has involved playing it on the Steam Next Fest last year, and a few hours of the main thing. I don't normally play these kinds of tactical games but given I'm hopelessly involved with the series, I decided to play it at that angle.

Gameplay wise it's pretty fine. The interface works fine and after getting used to it a bit, you can do pretty much everything you need to just fine. Some buttons like the Y button so far haven't had any function but i otherwise can't really complain.

However, do note that if you do play it on a steam deck the in-mission dialogue is *really* hard to see. I have good eyesight but after a while i gave up and just used the Log feature every few lines. This doesn't happen for any main story bits or the menus, so it's likely either a bug or something they hadn't considered for a Steam Deck user, which is understandable tbh.

Audio wise it's great. Girls Frontline has always been loaded with bangers and Reverse Collapse is no different. Not much more to say there.

Story wise... It gets a little complicated, someone better qualified than me can explain it.

Ultimately if you like these kinds of tactical games you'll probably like this.

Immediately after playing, I had trench foot and dystentery. 8/10
