Dying Light: The Beast feels like the true second Dying Light. It's a proper sequel. Beast Mode feels like a dopamine loop of carnage as you cleave through zombies. I love that the developers added this Beast Mode and then also had the insight to add large swaths of enemies to use it on. It's insane how many games get that wrong. I also love how the human enemies react to you transforming and sprinting at them like a bullet.

One point against the Beast Mode is that Volatiles still feel extremely powerful despite you "hulking out" and matching their power level. It requires use of abilities like "Agonizing Roar" to beat them in a fight, which burns through your Beast meter very quickly. I dont want to one-shot them like the default shamblers, but I also wish they wouldnt still beat me to a pulp even on the normal difficulty setting.

Had to save a man's life because a fellow doctor gave him radioactive chemicals to drink and called it "Good Stuff". Had to save a man's life because security forcefully detained him after he assaulted another crew member. Had to ask an engineer to help me break into a room so a crew member could be let out and so I could grab the corpse out of there.

All in the same round. I love this game. It has a charming art style and feels like an acquired taste when it comes to controls, but it's really quite rewarding.
