Early Access Review
I really wanted to give this game a positive review, but I just can’t. For a game that’s been in development for 10 years, it definitely doesn’t feel that way. A lot of content is copy-pasted throughout the game. There are a ton of game-breaking bugs. And yes, I get it, they say it’s early access and an alpha. But if you’re selling the game for 50 bucks, you should deliver a better-working product.

A big issue for me is that if you turn global illumination down, it basically gets rid of the water, which a lot of people do because it’s a PvPvE game. You can then see through all water, which is pretty jarring. You can also tell how generated the mobs are, because you’ll see bandit camps at the bottom of lakes and deer standing on (and walking around) at the bottom of rivers. I’m not sure how they can claim the world is “hand-crafted” after 10 years when you have stuff like that. And that’s just a minor gripe compared to their PvP system.

The whole system is designed around risk and reward, and to stop people from griefing. If you fight someone and they fight back, then it’s mutual and you’re both flagged. If you don’t flag and the person kills you, they become corrupted, meaning they’ll drop some of their gear when they die. You’d think the system would discourage unwanted PvP, but it actually makes it worse.

Instead, you’ll have one or two guys running around naked with buffs and a garbage weapon attacking you. Behind them, usually following you, is a gaggle of their geared guildmates. If you decide to fight back, it flags you for PvP and the rest of the group swarms you like locusts. If you don’t fight back, you die and lose all your materials anyway, and the naked guys become corrupted. Then their group kills them to reset, and they run back. They risk literally nothing by abusing the system. That’s a pleasant gank in this game.

An unpleasant gank is when they try to corruption bait you while you’re using gear that takes hundreds of hours to farm. The moment you fight back, you’ll have unflagged members of their group spawning low-HP mounts or using low-HP characters and running them into your AoE, hoping you accidentally hit one of them and kill them. The moment you do, you become corrupted and lose hundreds of hours of work. You literally have to go into settings and change a bunch of checkboxes before you start PvPing in this game. It’s the worst design I’ve ever seen.

I won’t even get into the fact that the game is incredibly unfriendly toward solo players or small groups. It’s designed for zerging. There’s really no content besides the grind to 25 and the grind for gear no dungeons, no real world bosses, and no fun PvP content. The game is shallow, and the grind is the content. It’s the equivalent of grinding 1–60 on boars in World of Warcraft Classic.
I stuck it out to level 25 thinking the game would get more interesting. I quickly realized it has nothing to offer besides the grind. If you want to spend a couple hundred hours leveling to 25 and getting a low-grade entry gear set to do absolutely nothing, then this is the game for you.

A friend of mine summed up how the game feels in the first hour he played. He ran into the jungle and dodged raptors, and he was like, “Wow, this really seems awesome.” Then he died to a raptor that was inside a tree he couldn’t see, respawned in town, and fell through the world. He couldn’t log in for two days and refunded the game.

I should have seen the red flags, but it felt so promising. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. It doesn’t do PvP well. It doesn’t do PvE well. The crafting system is okay. The grind is incredibly long. There’s a huge lack of content.

This game had potential but it's ruined by the fact it turned into just a p2w unbalanced zerg fest.

This game isn't for the faint of heart. You can spend hours grinding a base and make one bad decision and lose all of your work. That being said thats what makes this game so great. You have to really practice and learn rust to really enjoy it. It can be a very taxing game on your time, having to stop auto decay on your base or check to make sure you aren't being offline raided. Overall though the adrenaline rush and the feeling of reward that can come from this game is immense. There are drastic ups and drastic downs in the life of a rust player. Trust no one in this game untill you have played with them for a while. Most of the community are toxic trolls but it still can be fun.

There seems to be a lot of praise for the devs on this game. I really do think the devs don't deserve it however. They have had a long time with rust and its still in early access. Rust has been out since 2013 as an alpha early access game. They have worked and reworked systems constantly and can not decide what they like. They scrapped the best system they had only to finally bring it back realizing the mistake they made. The game is worth the price tag but the development team has been far from stellar.

Terraria is a great game. It took me a long time to give this game a shot. I typically shy away from games that are 2d and sidescrolling. A few of my friends picked this up a while back and made me give it a shot as well. Honestly if this game was 30 dollars or 40 dollars it would be worth it. Most games that have come out are pre release money traps that never get to where they should be. Terraria is the pinacle of a game completed the right way. It's a game that once you get fully involved in its hard to put down. At 10 dollars this game is a steal. You can buy the 4 pack of this game and give it to your friends and you will still feel like the 30 dollars is worth just the single copy. I look forward to the next rendition of terraria coming out hopefully before i'm in a nursing home.

I really wish I could give pubg a positive review but its impossible. The game is rampant with cheaters. Bluehole and battleeye are way behind the curve in stopping them. After an anticheat update you get about 4 days of fun games before you start seeing people speedhacking and punching you out of the sky again. After that it takes at least a month for them to release another security update. If bluehole really cared about stopping the rampant cheating and not just cashing in on the banwaves from new purchases, they would have taken more serious steps towards it.

Even battle eye admitted the chinese hackers in this game are abundant, yet bluehole will not region lock NA servers. If you join a game on an NA server most of the players are chinese. Also a fact thats not talked about is that North American players pay a higher amount to recieve the game then chinese players. Unlike most games where you que up against 10-20 players PUBG matches have almost 100 players per game greatly increasing your odds that at least 1 player will be cheating. Bluehole needs to take drastic action to remedy the situation instead of just filling thier pocket books.

Everyone has thier own opinion about this game but here is mine.

This game is simply crap. I feel like flicking myself in the nuts repeatedly would be more enjoyable then putting up with this poor excuse of a game. Don't get conned into buying this game by the small fanboy base that babysits these threads. The game is dying and the population is dwindling, so the small base that are clinging to the hope of this game spend more time trying to get people to play it then they do playing it.

I was a darkfall 1 veteran for a long time and really enjoyed what it was. There was a major downside to it though which was a lack of a company developing it. I put up with the company that owns both of these titles Aventurine for a very long time and they are GARBAGE. There are promises of patches and updates and things to come, but they never do. This is not just a darkfall 1 problem but dfuw is plagued by the same issue. The population is dying because the game becomes stagnat. They are attempting to run promotions to bring the player base back a little bit but it simply is ineffective. There will be a small surge in players some more money in thier pockets like they always are after, and then people will be bored in a month and it will be dead again.

The game is also plagued by exploiters and people doing whatever they can to get ahead. Joining the game you will have to remember that you will never be on a even playing ground as the people before you. A major key role in that is the fact people found glitches to dupe off the start, and people are hording a huge amount of the income and properties in the game.

The pvp in the game is lackluster. The game is far from being balanced and people tend to go towards certain specs in the game and abuse that fact. It becomes very mechanical and loses a lot of the pizzazz that it starts off with. Most of the time in dfuw its chasing people to safe zones where they can sit there and you can't lay a finger on them.

If you are into pve then this game is simply not for you. Unless you enjoy fighting the same handful of creatures with different skins and never really being challenged. There isn't much else to say then that. It has simply no depth.

The crafting system in this game I admit is fairly well put together and you can feel accomplished making all sorts of things with it. The major downside to it would be the fact it will take you months of staring at a stone or tree and afking while hitting it to get there. O did I add when you get there you have to look forward to the same boring stuff.

Summary, the first darkfall was a unpolished gem that could have gone somewhere with a good revamp. Unfortunatly the way they went about DFUW with the revamp was not the right direction. BOTH games are lack luster and have failed to hold a player base. The company simply has no passion for thier game at all and thats the cold hard truth. You can probably get a few kicks out of it and some hours of fun but you will get bored and feel like your time has been wasted. The whole ideal behind the game is great but the execution was poor. Beware of the people trying to mislead you to keep this trash game going.

TL:DR Dont buy it
