Nightdive Studios System Shock is in my opinion a very respectful update of the original game. Something like an enhanced enhanced edition of the game. They made small changes where it made sense and left the core look and feeling of 90s era gaming untouched. Shodan and the station are still the stars of the game. It's a cramped, creepy maze of corridors and rooms. There is no checklist or flashy arrows on the hud telling you where to go. Both the story and the objectives are revealed through exploration and in the form of audiologs and textfiles found on the remains of the victims of Shodans creations. The game is not very difficult, but I wouldn't recommend starting with time limited permadeath mode on the first playthrough.

Updated for 2025.

DLC featuring new themed armors, building blocks etc used to cost ~10 Euros.

Now they introduced an in game store where they charge close to 20 Euros for 6 placeable items.
10 Euros for an armor and a single weapon.

The battle pass was removed.

It's a great game, but this new attempt at monetization is a massive downgrade for players.

Update: The store is still terrible. Instead of making good money by selling the removed battle pass content as bundles, they still have a few expensive items on rotation.

Game is still great. Monetization is still bad.

If you like the setting and have the hardware, it's definitely worth playing.

Just the right parts of grand strategy and exploration mixed together.
Got even better with the latest update.

No idea what people are ranting about, game works great for me on the Vive.
One of the best VR games I have played so far.

I have to add that I am very resistent to motion sickness and there is a lot of warping and dashing about required in this game.

Terrible port, does not support higher resolutions or screen ratios without mods from a questionable source. Completely unacceptable for a game released in 2017.

1. Uplay
2. Not Windows 10 compatible without some tinkering
3. Crashes because of steam overlay. A game that is sold on steam, crashes because of steam. Seriously Ubisoft...

Total War finally meets Warhammer, two of my favorite things combined in one of the best TW games of the series.
4 unique races in the base game, free updates and DLC that actually expands the game instead of just adding retextured models.

Apart from a couple of minor bugs this is a very fun VR multiplayer shooter.
Ride a flying junkship of your choice, race around the map, take cover behind placeable cover on your ship, while you try to shoot other players off theirs.

This was my first multiplayer VR experience and seeing two people shake virtual hands in the "lobby" after the game is something I probably will never forget.

The only complaints I have is that there isn't a tutorial for the game, so it can be a little confusing at first. Also there are only two guns so far, a revolver and a shotgun, which surely could be expanded upon.
