#WeDiveTogetherOrNotAtAll

Helldivers 2 is a four-player science fiction shooter where you use drop pods to shoot down to a planet from orbit and slay killer bugs and evil robots while collecting resources that you use to upgrade yourself and acquire new drip, all the while chanting slogans of representation and unlocking new items through season passes that never expire and increasing the difficulty of your missions to ludicrous levels. If I had a nickel for every time I fell in love with a game using that description, I'd have two nickels; which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it happened twice. Rock and Stone!

Despite being a live service game, which I actively despise as a practice, Helldivers 2 is definitely the exception to the rule. The game features virtually no FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), and you can easily unlock every item without spending a dime, AND without it ever feeling like a grind. You'll be too busy having a blast to even realize you're hitting resource caps. It has one of the most active and responsive development teams I've ever witnessed, with constant communication between players and staff. As shown from the latest PSN fiasco; they do see us, they do listen. We have a voice. This is not your typical penny-pinching second-job type game.

That's not to say it's without problems, heavens no. For one, there are still some very drastic bugs that have been there since launch, such as Damage Over Time not working if you're not the host (meaning any fire-based weapon is worthless), or sights in a weapon's scope not aligning to the center (which is deceptively common). And of course, much akin to any live service game, if you ever blip offline, you can't even look at your guns/armor, ship upgrades, you can't even talk to the NPCs on your own super destroyer! But these are, sadly, sacrifices that are understandable - hopefully, Arrowhead has an end of life plan for the game that will allow dedicated servers or P2P.

The only other major flaws are that in-game communication is terrible between players and developers. We can reach out to them through twitter, discord, even reddit - but actually mustering together to coordinate Major Orders is a nightmare, since there's no global chat. Everything has to be organized outside of the game. Also, after learning Japanese for two years to reach N2 level, I love it when games still region lock the Japanese dialogue. Like... why though...

Regardless, Helldivers 2 is an easy sell. On sale, full price, doesn't matter; if you have a friend or two to play with, the game practically pays for itself.

For Democracy, for Freedom, for SUPER EARTH!!

Yeah, the game's pretty good. There's an issue of balancing though. Anytime a new character is added they will be littered with problems - either that they suck or are so good that there's no point in playing anyone else.

P.S I spent 10k steel on Shinobi and they are literally a dumpster fire. Everyone knows it but the Devs refuse to fix them. Why?

Months ago I thought to myself while playing on PS4, "If only this was on PC, then I could play the co-op and it would be even better. Sadly, like Bloodborne, of course that isn't going to happen."
That was it. I thought of it like a fantasy, a fleeting dream that could never be.

That day has arrived, and it was even better than I dreamed.

10/1 it was pretty good i guess

Been a good while, and the game still kicks ass.

I just finished a Choose Your Own Adventure novel. Go play it.

It's called Choice of Robots.

I finished with my family living in a luxurious mansion in Hope, Canada.

I had a robot BFF named Astrea, a former-co-worker wife named Tammy, and an 8 year old daugter name Yeada.

It was great.

I started the game at the age 24. I finished it when I was above 50. During that time I had run-ins with the FBI and the Air Force, I started a robotics factory in Alaska, that factory burned down, mind you, my father died, a war between China and the U.S.A started, and I made 'anatomically correct' robots that ended up making only about 15% of the U.S.A employed.

That is the life story of Daemon Lunar.

So... When's the sequel?

Unhack has a very... Unique style of humour. For instance, the MC, you, use emoticons during dialouge. It's quirky and stupid, but really enjoyable for some reason.

Also, having FULLY VOICED characters (and in english, no less!) really makes the 2 hours of fun all that more enjoyable. Xanthe Huynh, from Sword Art Online even makes an appearance. So if you love her performance, you won't be dissapointed. The gameplay in this is fast, but 'puzzle' really isn't the right term for it. It's a lot like the impossible game (the one you control with the arrow keys, not the musical one) but you jump from point to point instead of free movement. Also, in the last quarter or so of the game, your movement speed is increased and so is your health. But honestly, I reccomend you play on the hardest difficulty, which allows NO DEATHS, simply because the game lacks a little in difficulty. Around the only times I died was when I accidently hit a movement key and went hurling to my death. I still want to see a speedrun of this game, though.

In summary: It's quick, cheap, funny and all around entertaining. Fun for the whole family. I can't wait to see more from the developers.

Which puts me back to my first line.

So, when's the sequel?

9/10
