I cannot overstate how much I appreciate the devs tending this much to the game that helped shape my childhood. It's wonderful to see such an old, but timeless, title still updated, receive new content, DLC, civilizations, tweaks, fixes... The DLCs are much more subjective, but in my opinion they are great and add value. However, even without them, this is an extremely well made and loves "little" game that is still enjoyable. I cannot recommend this enough and I wish I could thank the devs personally for giving this game so much new life.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE this one. The old Stronghold was already one of the favourite games of my childhood and this DE version honors it incredibly well. I have yet to find any significant issue or difference from the old version; the only thing right now that feels a bit unfamiliar are the new animations (woodcutter, bakers, etc.), but I must say that they are very well done and look awesome, so this is just me being nostalgic. I appreciate having the option to switch between the old spire and the new one, new controls while keeping the option to go back to the old ones, beautiful graphics, very stable gameplay, original audio... The only thing that I wasn't sure about is the omission of the Wolf and the Pig campaigns, which are coming in January. I am honestly not sure whether those were present in the original game back then or if they were also added later, but I have to say this - I was shocked at how low the price is and I would be more than happy to pay 20 EUR for this game, so getting the two DLCs for 6 EUR with many other planned upgrades on the way... This is a no-brainer for me and so it should be for you if you liked the original Stronghold. Stronghold DE is the highlight of 2023 for me, as far as gaming goes. Now, I really hope they will give the same care and love to Stronghold: Crusader and I also hope that they don't take too long; but thankfully, I know exactly how to make that time go by very fast. Thank you for this awesome remake and also for the very welcomed Czech subtitles!
