Early Access Review
I regret buying this. Hideous art style and has quite a lot of bugs, even for an early access title.

The developer should actually fix things before adding new content, even the achievements don't work.

Witchy Tower is a pretty good take on the "Icy Tower" gameplay loop, though i'll note that Witchy Tower DOESN'T feature a replay system, at least not as of writing this, which might be a deal breaker for some.

Witchy Tower features cute graphics, two game modes and six unlockable characters, as well as the ability to add your own character like the original Icy Tower, and you can also fully rebind your controls if you don't like the defaults.

The controls aren't as smooth as I see mentioned in other reviews, but they're not bad. Navigating horizontally is mostly responsive however there are several occasions when you're clearly on a platform and the jump just doesn't register, doesn't matter if you're on keyboard or controller, and jumping too quickly can penalize your momentum. -- Witchy Tower also doesn't allow "hold to rejump" like the original Icy Tower, so you have to press the button each time meaning in some situations where you need a frame-perfect escape, you'll just fall.

The width of the tower can also feel too wide at times, depending on how the platforms spawn, and jumps where the platforms are quite literally on opposite ends of each other aren't possible with how momentum works in this game, so you're better off avoiding them. --- Back in the early 2010s, Icy Tower had a port for the Nokia Meego phone that featured an overly wide tower, and the game was pretty much unplayable because of it. -- The width of the tower in this game is almost similar, just slightly smaller, so Witchy Tower has some of the same issues that terrible port had; games like this should have a more box-like play field rather than rectangle, granted Witchy Tower isn't actually impossible like that port, but it does remove some of the enjoyment.

The first of two modes in this game, Witchy Mode, is very interesting because you have to balance skillful jumps, collecting money, buying power ups and dodge hazards all while doing combos and escaping a death laser from a lady with bouncy breasts.

Throughout the tower, you'll find green stars littered around that you can collect to purchase perks from Star Witches in the tower, and they appear at random as you ascend; Some of the perks are a simple purchase while other Star Witches have a 'meter' that can be charged with extra money by holding down the CONFIRM button; This adds a unique dynamic to the game because purchases, and charging the meter, is not quick.. you have to wait for each star spent to leave your wallet and each Star Witch also has a unique animation that needs to play before you get your purchase, so you have to strategically decide if you WANT to spend for the power, if you WANT to charge the meter and also if you even HAVE TIME to charge at all since you're trying to escape a death laser, and like Icy Tower, the game will get faster as the clock ticks down so trying to get power-ups late into the gameplay will become very difficult and you'll have to rely on jumping skill.

Power ups range from being thrown high up, to a triple air jump, a one-time shield against hazards and also a black heart that will one-time protect your from the death laser; there is also a Star Witch who will give you free money and a 'x2' wallet multiplier that you can pick up; Aside from the death beam, the hazards include several gizmos that will temporarily freeze you on ice, a bounce-pad gizmo (all directions!) and a electric-thing that will steal your money, if you touch it.

In my original review, I criticized having to wait for each individual green star to leave your wallet and I still feel this way, at least for purchases that don't have a charge meter, and I also still wish you didn't have to wait for each character's animation after making a purchase; Maybe it would be better if they did the animation during the purchase and not after?

Classic mode is like the original Icy Tower, it's all about combos and jumping skill... while still avoiding a death laser. No powerups, no hazards.. just you and the boob lady. While witchy mode is much more enjoyable to me now that the developer has reached out and explained you can charge Star Witches' meters, there's something to be said about the classics and I'm glad this mode exists. simple and fun.

Witchy Tower is a great game with some issues, but well worth your time especially for the price, and it has achievements if you care for that. -- lot's of fun to be had here.

While it's not as horrible as Touch My Katamari on PSVita, or egregious, this takes the cake for second place... I hate it. Genuinely I've had enough of this game and I'm not going to finish it.

The hub world is a mess and I hate how every few missions it forcefully kicks you out to a new area, the whole structure for selecting original stages vs challenges is also a mess; The addition of collectible crowns adds nothing but artificial progression to the game, and most of them are well hidden.

Levels are dynamic now, and while I was most excited for this, it's terrible; cutscenes constantly break up the gameflow and the king never shuts up. Some of the areas and locales are new and refreshing, but the gameplay isn't good enough to warrant getting to them.

Most of the missions are directly ripped from We Love Katamari, just reskinned to fit a different narrative.. there's nothing really original here except the music, which kind of fell off compared to previous entries.

Stick to the originals on PS2, Me & My Katamari or Beautiful Katamari... this one just isn't it.

This game is rather basic, but genuinely addictive.

I really enjoy just ripping open packs and collecting all the different cards, and when you finally hit big (expensive card), it feels amazing even 200 hours later. -- Admittedly this game isn't perfect, it's technically early access, but it offers quite a bit. Progression is a little slow, and things feel expensive, but it still comes off as charming and fun, and Tetramon are just genuinely cute. (Yeah, I bought a Pigni plushie!)

The only thing I don't like about this game is the lack of variety in shelving / ways to sell your goods, which leaves the store feeling boring at times even after decorating, and it makes designing something kind of difficult. Stocking items late games is kind of a chore too, there isn't a good way to manage inventory quickly or just 'take inventory' in a single button..... but also, it seems like too much variety hurts you, so maybe a smaller store is better.

I don't like how the store size dictates how many customers can spawn either, the small store looks better than the final elongated size, and it's not as cozy. You could do everything in Shop B I guess, but they still enter through Shop A too.

Buy the game, it's a good time sink and unlike real life, you won't waste money on manbaby cardboard.

Pac-Man World 2 was a childhood game of mine, and while it never exactly became a favorite, nor did I find it as good as the original on Playstation (in my opinion), I still had plenty of fun with it despite it's many... many flaws; In fact, I would dare say this is the game the deserved to be remade the most, simply because of what it COULD have been.

RePac 2 is not faithful to the source material, and is in fact a reimagining. While the story and overall shell of the game like the gameplay mechanics and world map are mostly the same, pretty much every level has been altered from the original, some straight up different; some of these new levels do contain chunks of the previous levels here and there, and the levels also have faithful music (unlike RePac 1).

The bosses in this game are completely different, gone are the Ghost Mechas and instead we have fresh, redesigned bosses that reflect the setting they take place in.... well, except for the fourth boss which is now a giant spider x music battle hybrid, and yes, it's as completely out of place and plain STUPID as it sounds.

...bosses also don't have checkpoints, and their phases are pretty drawn out; hope you don't mind starting from the beginning, pal!

Each level has 3 challenges to tackle, as well as a time trial to compete in; The first and third challenges are always collect all fruit and earn a bronze or better, except for bosses where the first challenge is to simply not die, and the second objective changes between levels. Some will have you go for a high score, defeat all enemies etc.. basic things, however this game has a poor English translation and some requirements are NOT exactly how they're written.

Completing all three tasks per stage will net Pac-Man a new costume he can wear, however this gimmick is mostly lame. While there are some neat unlockable outfits, most of them are just different colors of existing ones you've already unlocked, which comes off as lazy.

Then you have the time trials, and boy, these are painful... SO PAINFUL. While a handful of levels, and even some bosses (yes, boss trials -.-) have mostly reasonable Gold times, the vast majority of them are completely unfair, especially some post-game bosses! -- You need lightning reflexes and a lot of time to practice these levels, and don't even think about using the 'Fairy Mode' to cheese them, because there's a time penalty if you do. (And if you're someone who genuinely needs assists, well, that's a middle finger to you for being on the spectrum, I guess! (-XOXO Namco))

Once you finally beat the game, there is actually post-game content.... and it kind of sucks. One level from each world, and that world's boss, is now harder; the only major difference is different lighting / time of day, extra hazards, some new enemy types etc.. average. --- The bosses on the other hand... well, most of them are managable, but the last 4 post-game bosses can SUCK ME DRY.... I have no idea what Namco was thinking, they're enemy and hazard spam.. artificial difficulty for the sake of frustrating you.

All n' all, the post-game leaves a lot to be desired and really need a rebalancing patch,...and then you have to do them in time trial mode, because of course. (Don't bother!)

If you buy the game, beat it but don't complete it. This remake didn't need to exist.

THPS 3+4 was an excellent time, even after doing all achievements. Tony Hawk 3 has arguably some of the best levels in the series, so seeing them again in high definition with the 1+2 engine is remarkable, the same goes for Pro Skater 4's levels; There are also 3 completely new levels, Waterpark, Pinball and Movie Studio, which are really dang fun to shred in.

THPS4 doesn't have it's original career mode, instead using the timed-structure from the original trilogy. This is generally a deal breaker for most, but not for me, because in all honestly Pro Skater 4 has aged like milk and I'm happy to see most of the fat was trimmed. Some of the bigger more infamous goals are now paid-tribute to via challenges, and the challenges have become more selective and personalized compared to the 800 something filler from 1+2. It's a much easier pill to swallow and feels good to master.

Once you finish the main career, which is the "crew" tour from THPS 1+2, you will unlock pro goals; completing all pro goals will unlock solo tours, which you'll have to play through all 30 something if you want to get the achievements; It's a grind, but the goals are well designed and once you get into a flow, you'll be speed running them. I can do pretty much each level, except cruise ship, in under 5 minutes now, which trained me for the speed run mode challenges after.

Highly recommend this game, just be sure you're willing to get good.
