Even though my longest playtime in this trilogy has been with “The Re:Up” I would still put this game on equal standing with the others. The biggest complaint I can find is that it doesn’t lean into the comedy enough but that’s the whole point. This is Jecka’s perspective!
I’d say the other games’ formula felt better to digest because you had a main character like Nicole. She’s the perfect vise to follow through with any scenario for the sole reason of it being funny to see what happens, good or bad, and it wouldn’t really affect her because she’d eventually end up suiciding anyway.
But there is no “comedy cushion” for Jecka. The one off situations that would normally get played off as a joke are the actual reality for Jecka. She doesn’t have a Third-Person Perspective of the situation like Nicole would, she’s there in the moment and it affects here.

I probably should have saved this rant for a Reddit post or something but I like this series too much for it to not get a good review.

I originally bought the game because I saw a TikTok about the cop scene they have at the mall and it made me laugh for a good 15 minutes watching it on repeat. I then went to the store page and bought the Double-up bundle. I'd say it was well worth the money and a good way to waste some time. The writing is pretty damn fantastic. The insight that the writing gives on what it's like to be a teenager in 2008 on top of the S tier performance made by the cast REALLY sold it. They also got some names on the cast that I instantly recognized like Kayli Mills (Emilia from Re:Zero and YunYun from KonoSuba) and Kira Buckland (2B from Nier Automata and literally every other female anime character). Everyone overall was brilliant in their performances, ♥♥♥♥ had me feeling like I was about to fall into this game world cuz it felt so damn real. I do hope they keep producing these cuz I can't get enough.

Story Mode is a whole ass NOVEL, but online is ehh. Online is like a DLC that gets worse over time. I appreciate Rockstar keeping GTA Online relevant with updates but its turning out to be more and more like TF2 where each update gets more and more disappointing and not as frequent.

Casual is a joke and competitive is cancer. Voice chat goes one of two ways: it either stays quiet the whole game with one or two people who take the game seriously and make callouts or the chat is blown up with people talking and everyone having a good time.

It's the perfect Source engine game.

27 year old men and teenagers with deep voices yell at kids calling them free to play because they have a life and don't spent their life and money on a game that's free to play...

10/10 would get yelled at again
