It's fun, but it crashed way too often. And no, it's not my PC.

This is the first souls-like I could get really into. The game demands respect, but in turn, will respect you.

Graphics are great and the world is just so atmospheric. Sound is great too, lots of ambient sounds and music that really set the vibe for the world. Sometimes I'll just walk around on foot just vibing.

The game is not very grindy, but do expect to need a lot of retries on bosses and in dungeons. Also expect a lot of googling.

This game had problems. Random arrests (even at 200 kph) and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics. The controls are bad.

The game's races are governed by RPG like mechanics. If your car is better than the race's rating, you'll stay ahead of the pack. If your car is worse, you've got no hope of winning. The game makes you grind for new parts like an RPG too.

The music is OK, I guess. My problem is that it sounds so 'flat' and 'empty' somehow. I've got a pretty decent audio setup, and it still sounds like it's coming from a tin can.

The races can be nice, sometimes, but mostly it feels like grinding an RPG.

I've played 4 hours somehow, but I still haven't unlocked the ability to customize my car's paint job. Or maybe I need to download an app to my smartphone for that? Wtf?

You might have some fun with this game if it's cheap, but otherwise I'd steer clear of it.

Would I recommend this game? Hell no! The 'story' ruins everything. When I say story, I actually mean scripted unavoidable moments where you are captured, drugged and brainwashed. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. You might be trying to enjoy the sandbox en bam! suddenly you are captured and forced to play through a long and tedious linear piece of gameplay.

The game doesn't offer you a choice. Well, I beat it anyway. By quitting! Take that, Far Cry 5!

I ragequit after 3 of such sequences. After a bit of googling I found out there are 9 - 11 of such sequences. Never have I been happier to ragequit in my life.

Take my advice, save yourselves the time and money. Don't even start this game.

This game is like a banana. It's a fun and tasty snack, but not enough for a whole meal. This game will entertain you for a few hours, but don't expect any more than that.

The first few levels are awesome, but the levels in the middle are pretty boring. Missed opportunity.

Another missed opportunity is the lack of a level editor.

Other than that, it's entertaining enough. Get it on sale.

At first, I didn't think it was a bad game. The graphics are great, the levels are gorgeous and the story was pretty ok too. The more I played, though, the worse things got.

I completed this game on normal so people wouldn't say something along the lines of 'git gud' when they read my criticism. You see, this game tries to be a bit like dark souls, or sekiro (as I've read), but it's very bad at it. Consequently, it's a very bad star wars game. You never really feel like a jedi. You can hardly use the force (very limited 'force meter') and all those fancy moves you unlock aren't worth anything because the game will punish you for using them. Everytime I saw an opportunity to do something cool, my force meter depleted within seconds.

What's so bad? Well, first of all, you will find yourself struggling with the controls. Sometimes button-presses simply won't register. If they do register, you had better pray you are still locked on to your target. Even if you are locked on to your target, you might still miss for no reason (even if you are standing next to your target).

If you get hit, prepare to lose a lot of life. I get it, this game wants to punish you for your mistakes. Except it's mostly just punishing you for the developers' mistakes. You'll flinch if you get hit, enemies won't. You'll flinch if you get parried. The game teaches you enemies should too, except they'll randomly stop doing that as the game progresses. Your attack animations are ridiculously long-winded, whereas the enemies move like lightning (the final boss literally blinks).

You have two defensive options: block and dodge(roll). Don't dream of playing defensively. If you use either one, for example to reposition yourself, the A.I. will just immediately use an attack that will always hit you.

The game teaches you enemies will glow red when they use an unblockable attack (hence you should dodge instead), but this doesn't always happen. Furthermore, as the game progresses normal attacks will damage you through your block too. Keep in mind that in bossfights, one hit (which turns into a combo) can easily take away half your healthbar.

And finally, you'll spend about half of the game platforming, and the platforming is pretty bad. I found myself falling in chasms a lot because of the bad controls and the bad collision detection. The game takes away a bit of health everytime you do, and it's just never fun that way.

These issues really ruin the game. Fights that could be interesting (lightsaber vs. lightsaber) are reduced to learning a pattern. There is hardly an interesting exchange of blows. It never feels like a duel. You will attack a boss during what should be an opening, and they will just animate their attack straight through you. You will always take more damage then the boss (which usually takes none and makes you flinch).

A lot of these issues feel like bugs. But a lot also feel like plain bad design. Especially the difference in animations/attack speeds. This means, however, that the promise of this game is ruined. When I played Dark Souls, at least I felt every death was due to my own mistakes. This is just a struggle. It feels like luck when I win. It brings no joy.

I followed the main quest and explored plenty along the way, but I didn't do much in the way of sidequests. The game lasted me 17 hours from start to finish and I got about 85% of skills unlocked, so I don't think I missed a whole lot.

Conclusion: If you want to play a good Star Wars game where you feel like a Jedi, go play some of the older games like: The Force Unleashed, Jedi Academy or even KOTOR. Don't pay full price for this one.

This game is not very good. It's not very bad either, but to see everybody singing its' praises so unilaterally will give people the wrong idea.

It's a hack and slash game that has it's moments, but a lot of issues as well. Here are some of them:

- There are lots of camera problems. You can't see your enemies a lot of the time. There is also a boss fight where the boss will be hidden by the combo counter a lot of the time. I mean, seriously?
- The combat focuses heavily on parrying and blocking. The person who thought that the block button should be the same button as the attack button should be shot. The game has lots of trouble deciding if you are blocking or attacking, causing you to die a lot at the more difficult bits.
- Blocking also requires you to press the thumbstick in the direction of the enemy. However, the camera problems really mess this up a lot of the time.
- Even if you pull off a parry, and the animation plays, you will sometimes still take full damage and get knocked off.
- The boss-fights can be very unfair. The game's A.I. decides whether or not you get hit, not your skill. A lot of attacks cannot be avoided properly. Even if you figure out what to do, it will often fail. The bosses also have attacks that seem to require a charge-up, but sometimes they will execute them instantly. I don't mind hard games, but then, if you are really practiced you should get good results. This just feels like random chance a lot of the time.
- The pacing is off. It has some very long cutscenes and some very long boss-fights. This game would benefit from having more regular enemies as a diversion you can have some fun practicing your skills.
- The game wants you to be stealthy, but it doesnt work because this is a hack-and-slash game.

The game isn't all bad and definitely has its' moments, but if you decide to check it out, I suggest you do so at a hefty discount.

5.5/10
