Hunt: Showdown has been, and will forever be, one of the most finely-crafted games I have ever played.

Hunt cares about balance. Hunt cares about atmosphere. Hunt is one of the last games to care about "old design:" hierarchies of audio, subtle color cues, silhouettes. It's all there.

Don't even get me started on the audio. The audio ruined some other games for me - games where audio is an afterthought. I can't play PUBG anymore. Gunshots that sound close are hundreds of meters away. Shots that sound miles away are right next to you. I hate it.

But Hunt? Ooooo baby. It serves everything to you on a platter. Each sound can be picked out and enjoyed. I can't get enough of it. I pull off insane wallbangs and get wallbanged insanely - it's beautiful.

The balance is incredible compared to most anything on the market. There may be a "meta," but it's not so powerful that you can't use what you want. I love playing new weapons. I love playing old weapons. I love how the devs clearly care about making different playstyles viable - but not necessary.

I cannot recommend this game enough. Every match is truly unique. Sometimes you win so drastically that you ride the high for days. Sometimes you lose but you fought so long and so hard that you can't help but smile at the end.

I love Hunt. I have introduced 5 different friends to it, and I'm about to boot up some trios with the two newest additions. It's not an easy game to get into, but by god, they can't stop thinking about it now.

If you're on the fence, take my word for it: this game is a work of art.

Catch you all in the bayou.

Early Access Review
Only released a few weeks ago, and it's already one of my go-to games at the end of the day.
Bought it for myself to make sure it was as good as my friends said, and within the day I bought it for my brother too.

We enjoyed the first Risk of Rain, having gotten 100% completion... but Risk of Rain 2 takes it to a whole new level. 3D brings in a wave of new mechanics, making the game more intense, more involved, and more FUN.

I've sunk 69 hours (nice), and there's a content schedule for the next year. Replayability is already amazing, so I have high hopes for what's to come. Definitely shaping up to be one of the best-value games in my library.

This game is endlessly fun for me.
No matter how many times I play in a day or a week, I never got bored of it.
The achievements give you something to constantly work towards or improve upon, and the same goes for the Monster Logs. While some achievements are of average difficulty, there are a few that even I don't have. Those few provide a challenge that will take quite some time to overcome. Also, I love the new relic system. It's fun to mess around with.
The game on its regular difficulty (Rainstorm) is quite challenging, and its hardest difficulty (Monsoon) is... well... intimidating, to say the least.
I'm not sure what they were thinking when they made the achievements to "not take damage" or "beat the game on Monsoon", but I like it.
The one problem I have with the game is the multiplayer right now. It's not impossible to make it work, but my friend did have to spend a decent amount of time getting a server up.
The single-player alone is amazing, and multiplayer is great for small groups. If they could fix the in-game hosting, Risk of Rain would be 10/10 for me.
