Arrowhead, how hard is it to listen to your playerbase, you've got lightning in a bottle. But every time we think we're back, you go and ruin the game for everyone again.

Just listen to your players, this is a game we all love, its special. But every time I come back to this game after a long break I get to play it for maybe 2 weeks tops before you do something to ruin it again.

I should not be experiencing the same bugs now that I had a year ago.

Battlefield for life!

So, this game used to be my favourite 1st person shooter to play, absolute favourite. But this recent update is very disappointing, minimal increase in graphical fidelity whilst losing a lot of performance.

So I did some testing and to put it into perspective I have:
64GB DDR5 RAM at 6200 Mhz
Ryzen 9 7900x overclocked 5.4Ghz, liquid cooled
RX 6800 XT

Pre update performance:
I game at 1440p and I used to get about 100-120 fps on Epic settings on maps like Fallujah and Yehorivka, whilst getting about 70-80 on maps like Skorpo

Post update performance:
Still at 1440p and at Epic settings I'm barely scraping 50fps on Fallujah, Skorpo is down to 30fps
On high settings I can manage a cool 80-90 fps on Fallujah, 60-70 on Skorpo

This is unacceptable from the devs, the choice to 'upgrade' the game to Unreal Engine 5 is a complete disservice to the very loyal and very supportive fanbase of this game.

Because it would seem that I'm actually quite fortunate with the performance I'm getting as I see many reviews of people with similar high-end setups getting far worse performance.

I should not be getting fewer frames on High than I used to get on Epic, and no one that used to play the game comfortably should now have their game performing with sub 60 fps and not be able to do anything about it.
And sadly we as a playerbase are screwed due to UE5 being a garbage engine with garbage performance and it would take an unrealistic amount of time to 'Optimise' this game for the fans.

I don't know what the path forward would be for the devs, but I really hope they come up with something.

To all the people review-bombing Borderlands titles:

Everything else in your life is already mega invasive, your social media platforms, your phone, every anti cheat of every game.
This is nothing new. Deal with it, this game is fantastic, and so are the other titles in the franchise.

Stop being overly-sensitive and jumping on the hate band-wagon because you want to be part of the crowd. You are the problem with the gaming community.

Accept that everything in your life is harvesting and selling your info already, deal with it, live your life.

SO freaking good, despite the optimisation, it's really good, and either way with every update the game's playability and stability exponentially increases.
