Much better than the first game.

Project CARS 2 is what the first game should have been, Slightly Mad Studios have really stept up their game this time around, with the cars actually resembling their real life counter part.

Obviously not all cars are as realistic as they can be, and the default car setups are quite less than impressive, however I am willing to look past this because you can download anybodies car setup through the time trial mode.

Because of this I was able to set a 1:11.599 at the RedBull Ring in an LMP1 and am Top Ten worldwide, on the default set up I was a solid 7 seconds behind the WR on my fastest laps.

It is to be expected to be honest though, there is no one set up that can rule every track as each track has its own characteristics, but the default setups are still lacking.

For the cars I have driven on Project CARS 2, I must say that I have much enjoyed it, and would recommend it to both anyone wanting to get into Sim Racing, and even seasoned veterans.

Personally I love racing the LMP1/2 cars, the Formula Renault 3.5 and the GTE and GT3 cars. The Formula A and X cars are alright too, but the Formula A car is quite outdated being based on the 2011 regulations and the Formula X is just a bit too rediculous for me.

Indy Cars feel great and oval racing is very fun online.

Classic Formula Racing is good when you can find a server that actually races those cars, the majority of online seems to be GT3, and maybe some LMP and F1 here and there. Even though the majority is GT3 racing, I can still find servers that race series such as Group C, Indycar, and Road cars.


Overall Project CARS 2 is a much needed improvement over the first Project CARS game. I think Slightly Mad Studios definitely learned their lesson from Project CARS 1 and I am excited to see where the game heads into the future.

The only real problem I have with the game is the AI. The AI is okay, but should be better, the AI is probably the thing that has least improved over Project CARS 1 in my opinion.
