Potionomics is a fantastic little game about selling potions, making friends, and managing stress. I've seen a lot of reviews that say the game is too hard, but to be honest my only criticism is that the game actually gets too easy, especially during the final two weeks. I never felt that difficulty spike I'd heard so much about, but that did give me a better appreciation for the wonderful characters that this game has.

This game did a fantastic job bringing the colorful cast of characters to life. Every character has enough depth to be interesting, but the game never loses it's silly tone. There are even a few moments that are genuinely heartwarming. Don't get me wrong, the main story is nothing to write home about, but the characters turn what would have been a mediocre deck-building game into something genuinely enjoyable for it's entire runtime.

However, Potionomics is obviously not perfect. The deckbuilding is fairly straightforward, and once you find a deck that works you have few reasons to change it. It feels like the friendships give their good cards too early and too late, with almost all of them having 3-5 friendship levels in the middle with cards I knew I was never going to use. On top of that, the good cards are so good that they can almost trivialize the game. I had 180,000 gold by the end of the game, and I made 150,000 of that in a single day. There is literally nothing in game that could put a dent in that kind of money, which made the entire card game section completely irrelevant for 15 of the final 20 days. I also never lost a single round of any of the competitions, and won most rounds without having to haggle. If you're familiar with deckbuilding and/or management games, this game will provide you very little challenge.

Potionomics is much better than the sum of it's parts, in my opinion. It's an okay deckbuilder, a decent management game, and a pretty good dating sim/visual novel. But it manages to combine all of those things in a way that makes the game genuinely stand out amongst the other deckbuilders that followed in the wake of Slay the Spire, and it's the only one since that I can say I genuinely enjoy as much as Slay the Spire.

Possibly my game of the decade; almost certainly the best game I've played in 10 years. It's the RPG experience I've been waiting for since I first played New Vegas over a decade ago.
Act 3 feels a little rushed and can get laggy, but there's content around every corner of the city.

Pizza Game is an extra-silly visual novel about love, but actually it's secretly about friendship, but secretly secretly about murder NOT murder. Which Mr. Arimnaes definitely commits. Not murder, that is.
In all seriousness Pizza Game is absolutely worth 10 dollars, and I probably would've been fine paying 15-20 dollars for it, even though I actually paid 0 dollars for it. Please release Johnny route I will pay the 6.99 advertised price. The typos seem to be a big problem for a lot of people, but the game has a lot of comedy to offer outside of intentional badness. Like unintentional badness! You might have noticed that I've accidentally written this review in a Pizza Game-esque style, but I assure you that this was entirely on accident. The game has corrupted me someone help.

I received this as a gift from a friend, so I didn't actually pay for it, much like most transactions in Flordaddle.

Rimworld is one of the greatest games of it's kind, up there with legends like Dwarf Fortress and, if you count it, Prison Architect. I think Rimworld manages to succeed in ways that both of these games failed. It's far more personal than Prison Architect. You learn your colonists' nicknames quickly, and new colonists are added at a reasonable pace to allow you to get acquainted with them before a new one inevitably wanders in. Unlike Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld is actually playable without being super hardcore about learning everything about it. The menus and UI are intuitive enough to work your way through, and the mod list is expansive. Seriously, just look at some of the workshop mods: eldritch horrors, vampires, advanced colonist psychology, Star Wars content... The list is massive, and even after hours of searching for the best mods I still uncover a new gem every time I check.
Honestly, I'm mostly writing this to show support for the amazing development of the game over the past few years, and to congratulate Tynan and the rest of the Ludeon devs on the release of a spectacular game. Rimworld is truly a gem, and I cannot possibly recommend it enough.

I don't care what Bethesda says, this version is always going to be the real special edition, at least until the modding scene takes off for Special Edition(if it even does). Pretty good game with amazing mod support, must buy during any Steam sale.
