People that complain about the game simply aren't able to run it.
Modern gen game developed for modern gen hardware.

If you run a 30xx series card or a 10 year old cpu, you're going to complain.

The Forest with a quarter of the content.

If you enjoy DayZ, you'll love this game, as you get to enjoy running across the map back and forth.
Also, base defenses are super in depth, with only 2 options for traps! Amazing.

As of right now, the only enjoyment is building. The new building mechanics are superb, making you feel slightly more immersed. Especially when you have to haul 2 logs at a time back to your base over and over, with no option of the trusted log sled from The Forest.

Another very enjoyable part of the game is playing multiplayer. You get to delve into deep caves and eventually come out the other end, just to have your friends game crash, and later find out that none of the progress he was doing actually saved. Make sure each of your clients on your host file save their own game....

All-in-all, Sons Of The Forest is missing a ton of core gameplay mechanics that were extremely beneficial to The Forest, and increased QOL during your gameplay.

If the game were $10, I would say get it in a heartbeat. But for $30, it is simply not worth your time or effort at this stage.
