TLDR: If you liked DL1 but tried DL2 and didn't like it, give it another chance.

Many would say that DL1 is better than DL2 and they wouldn't be wrong, but many would say it's way better and they wouldn't be wrong either. Even though DL2 is the sequel from DL1, is a completely different game, with many new mechanics, many new things to do and of course, a different story, etc.

I believe the ones that say DL1 is better say it because they're so used to DL1's mechanics that didn't like how DL2 felt and that's ok, I went through that phase too, but once you DO get used to DL2's mechanics, you can tell its a great game.

Having said that, if you loved playing DL1, you are probably not going to like DL2 in the beginning, but give it a chance and I assure you, you're gonna like this one maybe even more.
