With a slow burn Final Fantasy XIV Online escalates into the most compelling MMO I have ever experienced.

ARR (A Realm Reborn); the base game is that slow burn. Mechanically dated (gameplay wise), but establishes what makes the expansions Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers so special in character development and plot.

It also takes homage of other Final Fantasy games which is ingrained into the main storyline, so expect major nostalgic vibes.

The gameplay mechanics starts slow for anyone with MMORPG experience, but great for any newcomer to learn. This drastically improves overtime, especially with dungeons and raids.

Recently the community is having a huge growth spurt as a massive influx of players from other MMO's migrate into FFXIV. Though experiences will differ depending on what data centre and server, the community is positive and understanding.

All this backed by developers who listen, consider feedback carefully and diligently workout and implement patches and its positive effects on players.

With the free unlimited trial that includes Heavensward expansion. Plus the new Endwalker expansion launching.
Anytime is a good time to start.

Hint: Don't boost, enjoy the ride.

The differences that make this a special edition are the visual enhancements/elements and its upgrade to run on 64bit systems.
But do I really recommend it?

Depends on what you want from Skyrim.
This edition is future proof. since it is a 64bit program, it can use more than 4GB of RAM (compared to the 2011 Skyrim). Hence higher your system, better performance. Especially when it comes to running multiple mods.

Now, here is where things are mixed.
If you are not into modding, don't worry about this part. But if you are....
Well, the Skyrim modding community is around five years old, so you have five years worth of mods. But I wouldn't expect 'all' of the mods made within those years to be ported over to this latest Skyrim. Thus a problem could arise where you find a awesome mod for the old Skyrim, but it is not ported to this Skyrim (such as a missing mod author etc.).

So you have a choice.
Skyrim Special Edition - Future proof, better lighting/textures but might miss out on some older mods. But expect the number of mods to grow overtime.
Skyrim (2011) - Stuck using 4GB of Ram but has five years worth of mods to improve your experience.

Just build. A simple act, yet it is one of my favorites to play when I am tired of action games.
The act of just designing a town and seeing it grow into a megacity is highly satisfying. Yet, it can be a challenge. Maintaining a city's transport, health and other aspects that forces you to think ahead. But it also has a free build mode, A mode that I mostly enjoy just for the simple relaxation of designing an interesting city.

Oh, did I also mention it has mods?
Oh yes, so many great mods in fact that my game is broken at the time of writing this review.
Nope, Nothing wrong with the game (as of yet). I just got too carried away by subscribing to too many.

Performance wise, its fine for a mid range machine.
Just expect that, the bigger the city, the bigger hit to performance.

The single player is one of the most entertaining gaming experiences I had in awhile.
You have brilliantly crafted characters within a world that trolls reality. The multiplayer though is mixed between great and horrendous, so I won't purchase this just for multiplayer. Performance/visual wise, it runs and looks well enough on low/medium settings for a mid/low range pc.

There are tons of mods available, unfortunately Rockstar does not support mods for this game. So never use mods when in multiplayer or you will risk getting banned. Installing mods is quite technical (Do your research before modding!). Using the OpenIV tool will save your life/time.

Basicly an excellent story, multiplayer is a bit mixed and modding is technical but worth it.

*Note This is from my experiences from playing the campaign.

A total different type of strategy compared to Dawn of War as it narrows its gameplay to squad based tactics.

I had a better experience playing this cooperatively in the campaign, as you have half of the units on the field. Insuring that you really have to stay together to survive. It can also feel somewhat repetitive as you battle, going over the same kill this boss/defend area jungle/desert/city map. But you also get a tons and tons of loot/wargear for your squads to use.

Other points:
- Visual wise, very flashy.
- Can customise squads easily
- The campaign is somewhat interesting, But you will be soon selecting missions to loot wargear than anything else.

All in all, its is an OK game. Great two player co-op and good for players who are just learning the ropes of tactic RTS’s.
