This may be the single greatest game ever created. The only issue I have is that I think too many early game enemies deal 2 damage which can be a bit annoying, especially for newer players who haven't played the first game a lot. Everything else feels better than I could have possibly imagined. All of the boss fights (except the few that are intentionally repeated) feel relatively unique and stand out in the massive variety of bosses in the game, a lot of more common enemies are a lot more fleshed out in their move sets that make them a lot more engaging to fight since it's more than just basic charges, swings, or ranged attacks like in the first game. This game is also absurdly big, I've put 60h into it before I found all the maps and I only have 80% completion on my save, yet at no point have I felt bored during exploration. The music and visuals are excellent of course. The build crafting has so much more depth with all the skills, tools, and crests which you can combine to drastically change up your playstyle. The NPCs are an amazing improvement over the first game, where most of them felt pretty insignificant, now they have actual progression and development to them and they're a much more active force in the world. The quests are a great addition and it's really fun to see towns develop and shopkeepers get more inventory as you do quests and help them out. Even though I did bring it up as a slight criticism to the game, as a veteran player of Hollow Knight, I really do personally appreciate Team Cherry not holding back punches as much as they could've with the combat and platforming, especially since I just finished a couple runs of the first game before Silksong released, it really feels like they picked up where they left off in terms of difficulty. The worldbuilding and general kind of feel of Pharloom is also excellent and it feels a lot different than Hallownest in a great way. I don't know I feel like I'm just kinda rambling but I love this game so much. Absolutely play it, everyone should play it. If you find it too hard, there is a mod changes enemies from 2 damage to 1, use that if you must. It's been out for 4 days as of me writing this and in that time I can without a doubt say this is my number 1 favorite game, beating out the likes of Halo 2 and Dishonored with ease. I have never fell in love with a game this quickly before and it honestly probably borders a mental disorder at this point.

Edit: After getting the true ending, this game is absolute cinema. 7/5 game.

Blasphemous was a pretty fun game for most of my experience, there were only a couple bosses I really thought were difficult and I'm pretty sure one of them was just because I fought them too early. It's really easy to feel like a badass once you get some upgrades going. I am a big fan of difficult games, metroidvanias, and platformers, though it's because of that I have a hard time recommending it. During the base game there aren't really too many issues that I found, there were times were ladder or ledge grabs were rather inconsistent and the little air bounce you can do off enemies and lanterns is just downright atrocious and a complete underdeveloped afterthought of a feature which thankfully is only really used to get a single item. Until you meet Miriam and decide to do these neat little time trials. They start off fine enough, just a cool little timed movement gauntlet. But as you do more of them, they of course get harder. The problem with this, is they are well designed and difficult mobility gauntlets but they are in a game with absolutely horrible mobility mechanics and features and this is where the bugs and glitches start to really shine. I've spent the last miserable hour of my life dying over and over to spikes that are above me and to the right, clipping through solid platforms that are above spikes and dying instantly, inconsistent ledge grabs where I either just don't grab one I need to or grab one I don't need to and ultimately die. This piece of content is so comically bad and glitchy I simply just stopped playing the game. I got to what I was pretty sure was the final boss so I decided to go back and try and clean up some things I knew I missed, these challenges being one of them. With maybe 1 or 2 bosses left, about 98% map completion, like 2 collectible bones and 3 caged baby things left, I simply have no desire to actually keep going the last little bit. Maybe one day I'll go back and actually finish it, but as of now, this cool little crossover free DLC has actually killed my desire to play a game I was enjoying quite a bit for over 20 hours. If you get this game, have fun with it, but please do not do the Miriam Challenges. I have no idea what the reward is, but I know it can't be worth the effort. There is nothing it could realistically be to offset the time investment and frustration that it requires to unlock it.

Pretty enjoyable Demo. The combat is fun and fluid, visuals are great. I wish there was something in game to mark the end of the Demo as I didn't realize I was done and had to google it because I was lost. Also would be nice if it was explained a bit better how to access the Underlab and what that is, I ended up dying once because I was out of health items and didn't know how to get more until I was done with the Demo and discovered it by accident. Overall though I enjoyed it and am looking forward to buying it come full release.

I love this game, it's incredibly fun and I think it has a lot of gameplay improvements over World.
I just wish I could play it without performance issues and crashing. Ever since TU1 I had to stop playing entirely because they actually made the game run worse and I only now started to get into again after finding out that deleting the shader cache whenever they patch the game will make it run at a playable level. So I do that, play the game some, fight a new monster, and not even two hours in my game just freezes entirely and crashes. They made a really good game and then did everything in their power to make the entire PC community hate it because they just don't care enough to actually make the game work. It makes me want to go back to World because it not only runs better, but because it runs better I can play it on higher settings and it also looks better. Modern AAA gaming is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and it's because devs like Capcom and many others just don't care enough to make the game work. We shouldn't need to drop thousands on PC upgrades every few years just to be able to play games at decent settings with decent performance all because of devs who just push the burden of having the game run well onto the players. There is no reason this game should run the way it does when bigger and better looking games don't have the same issues.

This game would be a perfect 10/10 if they added a hat that says "I'm going to krill myself" with a little shrimp over top of a scratch ticket.

Really good, challenging, and fun game. Absolute blast so far and I look forward to playing it more.*

*with friends.
If you intend on playing PvE content alone, don't. It is not worth it. I consider myself fairly good at games, but it doesn't matter how good you are when the bots are this bad. Enemies ignore your teammates almost completely, at that is often a fairly mutual exchange as your two loyal Brothers stand around next to executable enemies while you get swarmed by melee and barraged by range. They will just outright run past and ignore large groups of Warriors while doing god knows what because I can't look to see them polish their armor in the corner because I am blocking and parrying more attacks than I can count. I *might* try doing the rest of the campaign solo because it *might* be more tolerable getting attacked by 30 enemies at once constantly if they do a bit less damage, but honestly I doubt it. They need to fix enemy AI so they actually attack bots at the same rate they'd attack a player, and they need to fix bot AI so they actual do anything noticeable other than talk.

That being said, it is a good game, it is fun if you have other players, the customization is pretty good, it's a great looking game, and the combat is mostly a straight improvement over the first. I'm sure any 40k fan will enjoy it, if you're new to 40k it's a pretty good way to start. In the campaign, the teammates often will ask the player character important but basic questions that fill in a lot of the "Need to know" stuff for new players in a way that feels natural and fairly immersive. I do think Tyranids could probably have better distinction in their units, it's fairly hard to tell if an enemy is ranged or melee until they're attacking you. This distinction is something the Orks in the first game did fairly well, but I'm sure that's a lot harder to do with Tyranids while keeping it lore/tabletop accurate. I think the tutorials could also be done a bit better, there is information regarding parrying and medical syringes that weren't really conveyed properly.

An incredibly immersive and atmospheric game filled with a variety of different playstyles and ways to tackle the many obstacles and enemies you will come across aboard Talos I. The harder difficulties remain challenging without making enemies feel too much like bulletsponges or making the player feel too weak. Easily one of the best titles to come out of the 2010's by one of the studios that helped make Dishonored, another excellent series of games. I can't wait to see what more Arkane Austin has in store for us now that they've been acquired by Microsoft and will be given the freedom and funding to create games that they want to make and are truly passionate for!

Early Access Review
It's a pretty fun and challenging game. You're gonna have a pretty rough time if you try and do everything solo which I think is exactly how MMO's should be. The graphics aren't really anything to write home about but their art team makes up for it by having some pretty nice looking moments, the skybox especially is a highlight imo. The gameplay is pretty solid though I wish you could toggle what shoulder you're looking over in third-person, being able to lean while crouched would also be nice but you can still do so while standing. The bulk of the issues I've run into have been performance related, things like connection issues and frame drops aren't exactly uncommon. There are also some translation issues but they aren't really that bad and generally don't take away from the game. Shot by a rat.
