This game has nothing going for it. It's a collection of ideas from much better games.
For the record, I have beaten the game with the Generalist as they were the easiest to win with.
and while it's called Grimstone Survivors, it's more like Grimstone Brotato
-Your character doesn't have more arms (Like Brotato) based on the amount of weapons you have. It just selects the "best" weapons to showcase you attacking and or stack the weapons on top of each other. Which is weird because this means you just don't see certain weapons attacking.
-There doesn't seem to be an option for NON-AUTO ATTACK. So your character just sort of chooses who and what to attack whenever it wants. Even if you have a boss directly in front of you.
-There also doesn't seem to be a way to see your numbered health or how much you're healing Besides the level up menu and shop.
-There is no DPS Breakdown at Victory or Defeat. No way to see how effective your build, active items or weapons were.
-The Sound Settings Menu places the % Icon on the left instead of the right. Honestly, you don't need a % icon here at ALL. It's also weird that you can have 67.7% of a sound setting. There is no Mute button.
-Passive items are Tiered like Weapons and Active Items but do not combine like them. Even though, you can get multiple of the exact same tier.
-Enemies can spawn directly on you instead of spawning off screen or by the edge of your screen. So they didn't even follow the game with "Survivors" that it copied from.
-Enemy projectiles can past through you and then hit you as you move. They're also a bit hard to see sometimes. Lot's of orange-ish looking things. Some dead enemies will toss their Oranges into the air or towards you... for no reason.
-The exploding spider enemy can lunge at you while exploding but only sometimes. It also only sometimes gets pushed backwards. OH and, you can be damaged at the very end of the animation when the spider is despawned.
-Enemies can STILL kill you during the Objective Completion explosion when they're supposed to be desummoned/defeated.
-The Player character is a Robot thing which has NOTHING to do with the imagery shown for the Title card of the game. There is no "Metal Jaw" human character or really ANYTHING that looks like that image within the game. (Could be AI art? I dunno and don't care to find out)
-The game does nothing to explain any of the on screen interactables. But the Blue Ore Obelisk gives XP and the Green Obelisk ones Heal HP. While you think you should shoot them, you can also dash into them.
-Achievements sometimes do not unlock when they should. I've had over 1,000 Gold and the achievement did not pop. (i'll have to try a few more times to see if/when it does)
-There doesn't seem to be any unique gameplay changing effects. Everything is simply number padding. Even having MAX tier weapons or Abilities doesn't allow you to do anything "cool". The dev should honestly, go ham with fusing weapon attacks or something interesting. I'd love to see the minigun fire Nail Gun projectiles. Or a shotgun fused with the Lazor weapon for a stream of blue lines removing things from existence. Without it, it gets quite boring.
-The game allows you to have a Melee character with no benefits from Range Damage, and then keeps giving you Elemental Bullet effects INSTEAD of the other type which gives your Weapons Elemental damage. I guess it only makes sense because it ALSO keeps giving me Ranged Weapons as well.
I will say, doing a run with the "Berserker" stacking Ranged Weapons and Ranged Elemental effects Only, is interesting while non-effective.
-Sometimes Ranged Weapons do not target enemies when used by the Berserker they will target the ground. This issue is also sometimes fixed by upgrading them. The weapons should still be able to target enemies even if they do not deal damage.
-The Stats screen should reflect the amount of negatives the character class has. So for Berserker, it should show Ranged Damage at -100 and we should be able to stack enough + Ranged Damage to get it back to a positive number. Makes things interesting.
-The Play Menu makes no sense. It's not a Character selection screen but shows a character with "COMING SOON" on it. So it must be a Game Mode type? But, a new player will have no clue what this means or why it's there.
-The LOBBY Menu/Button does not seem to do ANYTHING at all. Well, it makes sound when you click it, that's it.
-Choosing a class doesn't change your appearance, so it just adds to the confusion of what the point of any of these things are.
-The Item Soul Stealer, does not seem to work the way it's written. It says each defeated enemy gives you 2% Max HP and you lose 5% Health every 30 seconds. It doesn't say you lose %5 Max health so that makes it usable. However, it doesn't seen to actually increase your Max HP by 2% for EACH DEFEATED ENEMY OR it requires a certain amount of defeats that it doesn't tell you. I also believe it is lowering your MAX HP by 5% despite what it says.
-Some weapons of the same Type, Tier can have different costs of gold in the shop.

An Idler that runs out of steam quickly
DO, I recommend this game? YES
Why?
Besides bouncing DVD memes?
Because you should know exactly what you're getting and you get it. It's dumb game worth a few bucks or cents.

I like how it starts off simple and they kept finding new ways to change things up.
What I didn't like is the Diamond menu basically not effecting much at a certain point AND getting stuck with all the extra diamonds that don't really have a use or benefit. I also didn't like that it stops being about bouncing the DVD very quickly. You just increase the sheer amount of them and their speed to the point where it no longer matters to look at them. I would've like to see the dev do some more interesting things here. Like instead of just "Adding crit" give a Corner Bounce effect. That was the whole reason anyone even watched the DVD logo move around. It was to see if and when, it would hit perfectly into the corner.

Then maybe we could have stupid things like pinball flippers or bouncers. I dunno, I just think more unlocks and more things about bouncing and more unique things to make Prestige less boring. It's sort of worthless very quickly besides the few diamond unlocks and achievements. I also would've liked to see they go fully off the rails with it. Give us different stages with shapes or more virus types to interact with.

Overall, it's a good time waster but half way in, it sort of leaves you wanting more and feeling like some of the later systems just didn't have much juice.

The game overall feels too slow. Like Babies first Beat 'em up.
Visually, everything looks grand. But you're either a Big Dumb Cyborg that can't even finish his Super Move dialog before the entire move's animation is OVER. And whenever you're not using your Super move or heavy attack, you're too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow. Movement is slow, attacks are slow, his yapping is slow. EVERYTHING!

The girl? She feels like a normal character. The only thing is she has is an ugly ghost and the fact that her body is always facing away from where you're aiming until you go to attack. It's really strange. She also can't survive much of anything.

The Slime guy? Ha. he just feels oddy to play. Still a bit slow and can't really cancel out of things.

Skipping the text didn't seem to work like half the time on controller. Having to see the same cutscene repeatedly wasn't great. It felt like some button presses just didn't register

Overall, I don't see this game beating just playing more Scott Pilgirm vs the world or waiting until the next game comes out.

Keep on Passing!
I cannot recommend this game unless it's $1 or less.
There just isn't enough in here to be a worthwhile Clicker, Idler or Casual game.

I have no idea how this game does not stutter or drop frames while so much is going on visually. So, props to the dev for this one. But while the visuals are good or decent, the content feels barebones. It has a few systems with a few unlocks and then everything is just Grind until X achievement.

The Skill Tree and the Mining Visuals are the only positives this game has.

Talents are boring and often the positives you gain from them aren't better than just not making the rocks stronger. Which IS what happens every time you select a new talent. You're basically rolling through these until you gain either speed multipliers or ore multipliers.

The Mine in this Mining game is completely pointless. It's just passive income but ends up being less effective than actually playing the game or leaving your mouse in the center of the screen while starting a run. The cost versus gain is outrageous to the point where it is worse than talents in terms of value and enjoyment.

The Anvil is where you craft a new Pickaxe. Which is just to offset anything you've done in the Talents.

The Artifacts might as well not exist. There is so few of them. You cannot improve them by finding either MORE of the same or finding different versions of them.

It's hard to explain this game. It is neither a Clicker nor an idle game but tagged as both. The idle part gives you less than 30 seconds of playing the game yourself. And there is next to nothing to actually "click" on for it to be a clicker.

I have 100%'ed it
It's easy to do but hardly worth it.
It's too short, has too little and feels like I could bought something else instead.

Early Access Review
A Temtem Vampire Survivors Knockoff that should be good but feels underwhelmingly basic
It's as if they took the idea of V.S. and ignored all the unlockable systems, goals to grind for, unique map items, Character skins and basically everything else that makes a game of this style interesting to keep playing.
Every Skill has some horrid upgrade name of BLAH + for the "fusion" version; which while easy to remember it just leaves a lot to be desired. There is very little here to make your feel like your Tem is your own instead of a copy-pasted clone. And the game also has issues with rewarding co-op play properly. There is no Team-up attacks or anything besides being able to revive mates and Share Gear effects for Synergies. Now, it is still fairly fun to play with others, whenever Ping/Lag isn't ruining your day. But as a whole, it feels like it isn't built to last but a few weeks of play. Everything the game offers runs out of steam very quickly and some of it overstays its welcome. Thankfully it's still in early access and has time to improve, assuming as long as the money and interest is there.

As of this time, I cannot recommend this game over the countless V.S. clones out there that do this better than Temtem: Swarm but I hope they take my feedback to heart and give this game some life to keep people playing. I also hope they do some research by playing other noteworthy games like Twilight Survivors and Soulstone Survivors, just to name a few as they have so many systems to improve upon what you can do and how you can do it.

Skills, Menus, Weird Naming & How lackluster it all is
I am going nitpick a bunch of stuff by Crema Devs here as I just can't ignore it.
I dislike the use of "Skills" for what amounts to as a Skill Tree or Temtem Upgrades.
This is legit a Skill Tree or Skill "web" even though it's very limited. What typical players consider "Skills" or Abilities is what you call Techniques. The naming issues also stem towards "Gears" and "Techs" which, both can be singular or plural without needing an "S" as far as I know. But this is just a minor nitpick.

OKAY! Onto the "important" Nitpicks:
-There is no Account Level which is either based on Your actual game experience or total Skill Tree upgrades across all Tems. This could be used to reward players Frames or different Tem Icons. Even new emotes, Cosmetics or Skin appearances. Also opens a door for MTX to keep dev work on the game possible? As of right now, only the bar filled around your selected Tem lets people know your skill level. But that's just based on what you've spent on that Tem and nothing else. It also isn't adjusted for whats actually available right now. (It includes the "Coming Soon" parts you cannot upgrade)
-There is no System in place that allows me to have a use for Pansuns outside of using them for Passive Upgrades in the Skill Tree. I can't spend them in a Run nor can I spend them once I've maxed every Tem. They become useless. Give us an NPC and or allow us to spend them in order to buy more Re-rolls/Blocks.
