Early Access Review
The first ten hours or so of this game is very enjoyable and addicting. You can discover and create tons of different builds for your runs and can defeat both main area bosses with different builds. However, unlike other similar games, the more items you unlock the weaker your runs become due to synergies becoming more and more sparse. There needs to be more rougelite elements like permanent upgrades or upgraded starts to offset this issue(or tweaking of dozens of items to allow more synergies or better stats). The ability to remove up to 3 items from runs is a step in the right direction but ultimately doesn't aid your runs in a meaningful way.

When Very Hard runs come down to absolute RNG of obtaining a golden or diamond chest in the starting area or two, the enjoyment of the game evaporates. If I don't enjoy slot machines and these runs become just that.

There is a phenomenal game concept here but needs a lot more tinkering and tweaking to make it so.

TL;DR - Very enjoyable gameloop that becomes way worse due to too many items with little synergies. Not enough rougelite elements(perm upgrades, more resources) First 10 hours or so I recommend, longer than that and you will waste significantly more time losing runs/resetting runs than actually having a single winning run.

How much entertainment hours does one expect from games? My own personal rule is I should expect 1 hour of entertainment for each dollar I spend. This game just so happens to cost $1 and I have gotten more than one hour of entertainment from this game.

If you enjoy Call of Duty Nazi Zombies and the monotony of surviving wave after wave of zombies, you most likely will enjoy this game. Judging the game based solely on the price tag, I would say this is quite exceptional for $1. The game does lack in explanations of the augments and guns you get. You are just thrown into the chaos of the game with no explanation which is a downside, but I have found the game to be very simple once you understand the basics. The game is not great, but it has been fun the few hours i spent playing with a few friends. It's like one of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ horror flicks you watch, not because its going to be scary nor phenomenal, but simply because its fun. I like this game.

Similar in gameplay to the dungeons in Legend of Zelda, and similar to smash t.v., Binding of Isaac is well worth a purchase, especially during a steam sale. The base game offers tons of content, and hours of fun. Also, because each dungeon is randomly generated, each playthrough will be different than the last. The dlc adds much more upgrades and content that it would be un-wise to not purchase the dlc.

Fun game, very difficult, Lost over 100 hours of my life to it, 10/10 would buy again.
